It seems when you hear the term "first person shooter", all that comes to mind is some badboy, bald dude with a AK4, jumping off a building shooting helicopters while smoking a cigar.

When he says FPS he means a first person shooter game, not an adventure game in first person view right?
The old me would have said to use the Prime series as FPS but with Halo, Gears of War, and the Conduit out in the world Metroid would seem like another Sci-Fi FPS. Well I hope whatever he decides to make: is not generic (since most FPSs are), I hope it has great online and online gameplay modes and options, I hope that there's no mic because if not we're gonna have some trouble with kids talking s***, especially if the game is not M-rated because it'll be even easier for kids to get a hold of it.
