Mario Golf Series Mario Kart Series Mario Tennis Series Mario Party Series Mario Baseball Series Mario Football Series Super Smash Bros. Series Mario & Sonic Series and Others...
What do they all have in common, well for starters it's about Mario Series and Spin Offs. Each one of these Spin Offs have similar and unique traits that others have, like Mario Tennis and Mario Golf. Both simple games yet any of these series could be improved in many ways. One of my examples is that in Mario Party Series, it should have wifi. Did any Mario Party Series have wifi, no and yet any of these could be improved. Anyways, enough of my talking. My question to you all is simple. What would you like or want happen to any of these Mario Series? Would you change, add, or remove something from the series, or keep it the way it is? Any comment is welcome to this topic, and feel free to say something. Even Mario game ideas and concepts can be brought up here as well as characters too.

I so totally agree with you! I know this isn't going to be happening anytime soon but it would also be nice if Super Mario 3D Land also received DLC to expand the game beyond what is already there. Perhaps Luigi's Mansion will get DLC?

well due to the fact that games could have more things in it (like characters) there might not be enough space to put it all in one game. plus you don't all ways need internet for some dlc. for example: Blazblue Continuum Shift - what was missing - a character. how to resolve issue - by buying it at the store and put it on a type of storage device.

Well, most of the minor DLC like extra costumes in some games and by extension extra characters in games like Mario Kart and such are really just locked on the cart and require an unlock code via download to unlock them. I think it'd be better if they didn't have such things and just allowed complete access to people that buy games to all content and leave DLC for actual extensions of the game. Buying DLC...eh, kinda seems to go against what you were saying about free DLC earlier...unless you're referring to in game stores which I'm perfectly fine with.

I think games should just be completed before they're released. Some people (not me) won't have access to internet to download DLC.
But everybody can go to a location with free Wi-Fi. All McDonald's do here. I've had to go there when I lost internet access at home just to download a game from the e-shop.
If I can do it then so can they. If they can't, then they got more issues in their life to worry about than downloading content for a game.
And not all games can be completed fully before release. Mario Kart 7 was rushed to meet its release date and is missing a lot of content compared to previous games because of it.
Also, things such as DLC costumes on XBOX 360 and PS3 games would not have been created if they weren't intended to be sold as DLC. Being on the disc already is just a more convenient distribution method. The costumes being sold allow for them to sell a game with high production costs for less than they should do - the extra costs are covered by the DLC. Thats not being greedy.
Here's a scenario.
I make a high quality game that I would have to sell for $60 just to make a profit worth making the game in the first place. But thats too much, the people cry! And so I say, okay, I'll sell it for $40 but include $30 worth of DLC since not everyone will be paying for DLC. The game still sells and many people, but not everyone, still download a decent amount of DLC that would result in the same as if I sold it for $60 in the first place.
@Bass_x0: I guess I just don't get the point of inconveniencing your customers. Why can't a game just be complete nowadays? Especially for games on 3DS where they don't charge for the DLC unlocks.
Games like DOAD where you have to be online once a day to download costumes or online once a week in order to get new challenges... I don't get it. Why make your customers jump through hoops, what does that accomplish? Why make it so tough when customers have already bought the game and the company involved isn't even gonna make anything more from you?
I mean, it doesn't really affect me, I have wireless internet at home, but it makes me question the business practice. I dunno, seems like a waste of everyone's time and for the companies... a waste of money.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
Lets take Mario Kart 7. We all agree that it was rushed to get it released in time for Christmas. If they were to delay the game to add the extra features that it should have had, it would still not yet have been released. And thats no good for anyone wanting it for Christmas or Nintendo since Christmas releases get the most sales.
@Bass_X0: I disagree that it is the best idea to push a game back to or rush out a game for the holiday season. It's a bad business practice followed by too many companies and really...Nintendo franchises should carry enough weight to be above that. After a decade of working in retail, I can say the difference in sales is negligible being released for the holidays for big name titles...surprisingly it isn't worse given the flood of new SKUs during that brief period.
That said, I re-read your post edit and I fully understand why companies sell on-disc DLC and it is greed is a factor, but companies will find ways to make money. That content should be in the game (my opinion), but they've gotten away with it for so long that it appears to be accepted and unchallenged. That's not the case for the 3DS though since we're not being charged for DLC, we should just have full access to it instead of jumping through hoops.
So, since Mario Kart 7 is incomplete, what are they adding to Mario Kart 7 through DLC?

the only problem with it is that if it were online, you could steal someone's item and that would cause problems for other players. but then again it was in mkds, to me the item wasn't really spammed

It isn't tough for customers. It isn't a hoop either. It's fun! People like us who enjoy DLC aren't ticked off by it. DLC and downloadable expansions are fun and there isn't any inconvenience in it of any sort. I particularly enjoy seeking out a Wi-Fi source and firing up my PSP or 3DS to download DLC and new content to the games (i.e. Dragon Quest IX Defenders of the Starry Sky). I also enjoy like with the XBOX how you can take the card out of it and go and put it in the slot on the XBOX set up in Wal Mart or Target and unlock content to take back to your own XBOX 360. It's just plan fun.
