Funnily enough, I always thought of The Origami King as being kind of a Zeldalike, barring the turn-based battles. It has a very similar brand of exploration and progression, especially during the blatantly Wind Waker-inspired fourth chapter.
There are so many Mario RPGs recently! SMRPG and TTYD Remakes brought back some of the best Mario RPGs, Superstar Saga and PM64 being on NSO (expansion pack) is very nice, and upcoming M&L Brothership is so exciting! So many unique characters in Brothership, can’t wait to hear more about it!

So uh...what's everyone's stance on Dream Team? Apparently it's a bit divisive in some circles and I'm not sure why. Some of the criticism is justified, mainly in regards to the length and tutorials, but some of it felt dismissive of the game's unique qualities that to me make it one of the best Mario RPGs ever.
"Now I have an obligation to tag along and clear the area if Luigi so much as glances at a stiletto."
Second favorite behind BiS, personally, my only real issue with it are the tutorials. The moment-to-moment gameplay both in terms of the overworld exploration and the battle system is some of the best in the series in my opinion, and I've always loved the ethereal atmosphere of Pi'llo Island, partially thanks to it having my favorite Yoko Shimomura score.
Dream Team is actually really good, its just unfortunate that its too much like Bowser's Inside Story, so unfortunately the tutorials make it "Bowser's Inside Story but worse". Not entirely, I think the soundtrack is better (I think BIS, as great as it is, has the least interesting soundtrack of the Mario RPGs I've played). But I played it in 2020 and the tutorials were exactly as terrible as everyone said. I'm so glad games seem less focused with treating the people who play it like morons. Anyone who would need tutorials this slow and boring I'm pretty certain would also be incapable of beating the game anyway, so what is even the point? (same with Skyward Sword).
It's also funny that I played it and Bug Fables in the same year, and for both I think they start being great games when you get to the desert area. (close to being true for original Paper Mario as well)
@kkslider5552000 I’ve never played Dream Team, but it sounds like a really good game. I liked Bowser’s Inside Story for 3DS so I think I’d like it. I haven’t heard many complaints outside of a lot of tutorials for Dream Team, maybe someday I’ll play it!
