Let me see...one's an actual character, and one's an avatar. I think I'm going to go with the one who actually has a personality, backstory, character depth and progression. You know, the guy who's actually interesting. You know who I'm talking about: McLovin Cloud.

He does. He actually progresses and changes as a character throughout the story, just as any character in a book would do (and what a lot of RPGs forget to do).
By the way, I forgot to mention that everyone who chose Link over Cloud is going to get Masamune'd in the back by Sephiroth.
