It's a shame Brits aren't more dual languages minded, obviously it creates a disconnect with the mainland such as Brexit but also I look at my baby teen brothers who aren't nearly as adventureous as I was at their age. I would go to music festivals in mainland Europe (even with flights they are cheaper than UK ones and often with better line ups), or go to Ibiza or go to Oktoberfest or go to Disneyland Paris etc as a teen when you are that glorious age as a kid of having disposable money from a job and you live with your Mum but they seem put off by the idea unless me or another adult is with them.
