I am one of whovians who is addicted with the docter (tom baker ftw) and my brother even has a sonic screwdriver that we always use every time the docter uses his. I just cant get enough of the funny old man in the blue box. However with the wait for the new 7th season I have been stuck to watching repeats, and while watching said repeats an idea struck me for lego docter who. It would be like a mix of lego Hairy potter, lego starwars, and possibly even a pirates of the caribean tribute. After all there wasa pirate episode this last season. So what do you guys think of my plan or do all of you not like docter who (AKA the king of sci-fi not starwars) being in a lego game, or would it be just plain wierd. sure some of the episodes would have to be cut but other than that it seems like a good idea dont ya think?
I don't really care for the Lego series anymore and not even a Doctor Who lego game would convince me to buy one but I agree with lonlon-milker about Tom Baker being the best Doctor.
Yo, Tennant and Baker FTW. Smith is alright...Talks to fast

Can someone fill me in on what exactly Dr. Who is about? I am kinda interested in starting to watch. I don't know what season to start. Can someone give me a tutorial introduction.
@KaiserGX It's only the longest running Science Fiction series in the whole entire world! You really should watch the new ones. The series dates back to 1963 in England on BBC TV. The Doctor is an alien "time lord" who can die (regenerate his whole body = new actor every few years) 13 times (or is that 12?) He travels in a ship that is supposed to blend in with its surroundings (chameleon circuit) but due to his ship malfunctioning (he stole the ship from his planet to escape political unrest, etc) it became stuck in the shape of a Police Box (police telephone phone booth) in the very first episode in 1963 in London. Ever since, he has had over 155 stories in the original series on BBC TV, and when the series returned a few years back it had a resurgence in popularity. You really should watch! Oh, and 'The Doctor' (as the main character is called) has had many traveling companions, mostly screaming females, over the series' illustrious lifespan.
I've been a huge fan of the show ever since I discovered it on my local PBS station back in the 80's when I was a kid, I own most of them (some episodes were discarded in the 70's by the BBC to save space!) You really should check out the new ones, I love the old episodes, though (it's the same character with some of the current villains still making recurring appearances in the newer episodes.) I'd start with the first season of the new series!

i'm another doctor who fan from the tom baker days. i like matt smith's handling of the character: he's brought back the quirkiness. he's more truly alien acting, not always comfortable in his human skin. tennant was great, but i was ready for the regeneration.
i get a kick out of the feud between those who admire rt davies and the moffet lovers. both have done great shows; both have done rubbish ones. imho, the best from last season was 'the doctor's wife' by neil gaiman. it was perfection, at least to me. i felt that moffet had lost control of the story arc last season. it became an embarrassment. again this is my opinion only. i am hoping he can rein himself in a bit more for the oncoming series.
@Kaiser They currently air on BBC America, but they're between seasons (or "series" as they refer to them in England) right now. But BBC America should still occasionally be running episodes from the last few seasons here and there. It normally airs new episodes on Saturdays at 9pm.
Seriously, check it out. In particular this most recent Christmas Special (an annual Who tradition, aired each year on Christmas Day) was beyond phenomenal — not overly sci-fi-ish, but a great example of the emotion and storytelling that is the core of Doctor Who.
@lonlon-milker, I'd be all up in the air for both LEGO Doctor Who Sets and a LEGO Doctor Who video game as that is right down my alley.

I think the best place for someone who is new to enter Doctor Who is with the current Matt Smith series because in my humble opinion it is like a reboot of sorts for the franchise and it sort of makes what was old new again for the Doctor Who saga.
Basically from what I know Doctor Who is the oldest BBC drama and it tells the story of an alien Time Lord who travels in a spacecraft (Tardis) that is like a chameleon but it malfunctioned and it has retained the look of a Police Box. The Doctor can't really be killed until after his 12 regenerations are used up. Sort of like a cats nine lives (Nines Lives of Chloe King). The Doctor has sidekicks or travel mates who are nine times out of ten females.
I got into Doctor Who through the David Tennant series because I was overwhelmed at the impressionable age of 13 with his outstandingly tenatious and attractive companion Martha Jones and ever since I've been a fan! I love Matt Smith's Doctor because as I said it's makes everything that old from the original DW show new again in a way that appeals to our whole family. Sometimes my friends and I joke that what Johnny Depp is to Jack Sparrow Matt Smith is the to the Doctor Who series.
@Private-Pegasus, LEGO Lord of the Rings and LEGO The Hobbit are both coming this summer!
@Shingi_70, my sister is totally frightened of the weeping angel arcs in Doctor Who. It didn't frighten me so much as the Nightsister Arc in Star Wars The Clone Wars S3.
Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? Isaiah 42:19
