I'll play or watch something and while yes I enjoy it and think its good idk I just don't feel as strongly or excited about it like I use to. an example would be xenoblade 1 and 2 around a year or two ago I played xenoblade 2 and really enjoyed and had a blast but recently I beat xenoblade 1 and while I like it and though It was a good game idk I just didn't feel the spark anymore and not just xenoblade many other games and shows I just not excited about anymore.
@MorningRain I feel very similarly. A piece of media needs to be special for me to really love it. Recently I've enjoyed CLANNAD, Re;Zero, & Your Turn To Die, but a lot of games I play or anime I watch, while still good, just aren't getting anykind of excitement or strong emotion out of me.
@MorningRain
Try to play the games you have never before played, the shovelwares or obscure games so you will get some new experiences.
Sometimes being perfect is boring.
For me, I haven't had a problem like this, but I know I fell out of series I once loved due to the newer installments either not being nearly as good, or because the content involved tries to force something down the viewer's throat more than anything.

Ah Burn out, I actually just got out of one, Haven't really been playing any video games bc I just didn't feel like it, or just wasn't fun for me, so I did other things, but now i'm back to it its time to 100% a game or two.

Well I'm suffering through a period of that at the moment and I went into my backlog and began playing Stardew Valley. It's helped a lot, because the game is so charming, yet so deep. I hope some good games'll get me into the swing of things when E3 arrives.
Thanks everyone I think for now I'm gonna go back and play some of my favorites and just play some games that I really enjoy. it think I've been trying too many new games at once so its burning me out
@MorningRain Oh ya, I have like 5 games i'm trying to 100% two out of the five I have yet to finish, its just to much, So i'm just sticking to MH for now.

I just had a 6 month break from playing video games (except P5S) after being a bit burned out. I spent my time watching anime until I got burned out on that and now I’m back gaming again.
Taking a break from the hobby altogether is another option.
Personally, I rarely suffer from burn out because when I feel my interest starting to wane, I just... do something else with my time until I feel an urge to play again.
@MorningRain I'm kinda like that as well. My backlog is pretty big at the moment, so I've been finding myself switching games to prevent myself from being burnt out. Like, I would go from Xenoblade Chronicles, to Persona 4 Golden, to Dragon Quest XI S, and so on. Playing your favorite games is a great idea. I sometimes tend to play my favorites from my childhood, like Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario 64, among others. I'm like that with a lot of the modern 3D Mario games as well - I've finished Super Mario Galaxy quite a few times!

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️

I have a particularly horrible burnout phase. I’ll binge a game for so long that after two weeks I can’t play it anymore. Then after a month or two I’ll come back and do it again. Sometimes the cool down period can take months or even years. I had a small Breath of the Wild session over the last two weeks, the last time I did that was... six months ago. It’s hard...
Something I started doing a few years ago is listening to podcasts or video discussions while playing certain games. It makes me feel more productive and it’s actually really relaxing to listen to a something while playing. It especially helps with slower paced games.
Pokemon snap is the perfect example, I had an hour or so in that game where I felt like I was going in circles playing the same courses over and over trying to figure out how to unlock the next one. Usually I would feel like I'm wasting my time and get burnt out on it, but listening to some podcasts kept my interest to the point where I didn't necessarily care if I was not making a ton of progress because I was just enjoying my time and it was enough to push me through that slow section.
@E_Gadds_Garage Tell me about it! I do that a lot now, especially when doing "endurance races" on GT: Sport. It's really relaxing as you say, it actually helps me focus too. One video I listened through was a seven hour commentary on Death Stranding. If you're into that here it is.
