Anybody else on the course of this? I don't think I'm gonna get it too bad up north (though I'm gonna get a mix of a few storms) but it's gonna be a doozy for a lot of people. But has anyone already been hit, and if so, how bad was it? I offer my condolences to anyone affected by the storm.

when all the bread and bottled water disappears from Publix and Wal-Mart, it's a sign to check the Weather Channel to see what's going on, lol. all my friends back in FL have been talking about this thing for the past few days on FB, but it really sucks for everyone up in New York right now. Hope y'all make it through okay shpyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy~

Yeah, I'm in Missouri, so I should be safe, but my brother's big into weather, so I've heard a lot about it.
I think they've issued an evacuation of Manhattan Island, and that there's estimated to be at least a few million people who'll be without power for at least a week.
On a slightly different note, I wonder if this will affect the election in any way (potentially lowering voter turnout for the regions affected).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I'm in Oregon.. So I've experienced one natural disater, a tornado once, when I lived in Illinois, but it was pretty weak compared to most of them, so said my friends who lived in the state all of their lives.
I feel sorry for the people who will lose power during this.
Sill waiting for it to really hit here, which should be starting late tonight into tomorrow. Then continuing for the next couple days. I'm a bit in-land, so don't have to worry about the coastal flooding or evacuation (at least to the extent that you don't have to worry about that stuff much when living on a long narrow island), but the winds should mess stuff up.
i'm just hoping to not lose power — it sucked hard when my power was out for 3 days or so after/during Irene. Also hoping we'll close the office tomorrow (and maybe Tuesday as well), which is a good possibility, seeing as how the courts are already closed.
I did make sure my PSP, GBA and 3DS are all charged up so just in case i do lose power, i can still get some gaming on.
EDIT: There's not a full evacuation of Manhattan, just the areas referred to as "Zone A", which are coastal and low lying areas. But most everything (gov't offices, mass transit, etc) are shut down as of tonight. There's also some evacuations out here on Long Island, but again that's for the coastal areas and barrier islands (Fire Island, etc).
It's not too bad here yet. Looks like the worst of it will be around 5:00 pm tomorrow. My work is closed tomorrow - but odds are I won't have power to play my Wii on my free day, because I have the worst power company in the history of power companies. Given that they've preemptively closed everything, I'm guessing it's going to end up underwhelming.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Central PA, here. We'll just be on the edge of it, so are expecting strong winds and rain - possibly leading to power outages - but hopefully won't be severely affected.
I hope all those in the path ride it out safely.
I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.
