@NintendoByNature personally I would see it the cinema as some of the shots in it are gorgeous which make use of the full scream unlike some slashers flicks which work better at home in the dark.
@jump for sure. Before the pandemic and before kids, I used to go to the theaters all the time. I've actually gone twice this year and both were for the kids. We've seen Tom and Jerry and just Friday night, we saw paw patrol.
Back in the day, watching horror films in the theater was one of my favorite things to do. So had I still been a single dude, I definitely would've seen this opening night in theaters.
It is amazing how much a cinema experience can make or break a film for you. I remember watching Sinister in the cinema, the sound was so poorly set up in the screening, I walked out. The jump scares were physically painful. Enjoyed it much more at home with my properly set up speakers.
On the flipside, I thought for years that the Conjuring was dull, generic, nothing until I saw it in a packed theatre of game horror fans and I appreciated that film from that day forwards in a way I never thought possible before.

I 100% agree. That's why I always go to either IMAX or Dolby theaters. I pay 50% more than regular screenings but it's so worth it.
I saw the new Candyman a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. It's one of those horror movies that has more on its mind than just scaring the audience. There're some beautiful analogies in there about race, superstition and police violence. I wish Hollywood would make more movies like this.
How does it compare? The original is one of my favourite films, have the big special edition box from Arrow they released a few years back. It still feels relevant and modern to me when watching it, so I have to wonder what value the new one has.
Anyone seen the Shudder original Jakob's Wife? I love Barbara Crampton but after about half an hour of this, I am struggling to find the motivation to keep going.
Halloweens approaching! I've already started binging horror movies as much as possible over the last week. In a whirlwind of doing some research, I noticed Halloween kills will also stream on peacock premium the same day as in theaters. Ive been subscribed for a while now and I'm wondering If there's a caveat to that if people know? Will you have to pay an additional premium to stream it? I cant quite figure it out by reading online.
Edit: I did see an article stating its at no additional charge, but it does seem too good to be true.
