Topic: Have you ever broke a controller thorgh game rage?

Every time I talk with a non casual gamer they almost always have a story about how they snapped thier controller because they got frustrated. At first I thought it was just the people I knew until I found at my local game store a bin of trashed controllers and consoles. Looking at them more carfully I found that It broke because of phyisical abuse not wires snapping or computer boards frying. Its simple to see that the gamer didn't jus sit on them. So I was wondering what was the funniest or brutalest way you broke a controller and what game were you playing at the time?

Yeah, I've broken my Wavebird by losing too many times in a row against Boolossus on Luigi's Mansion. I've also almost broken my Wiimote doing the final run on Super Mario Galaxy 2 and my NES controller on Super Mario Bros. (before I learned that you could continue after losing all of your lives).

It's called Super Mario Sunshine. And it will destroy your colon.

Not quite broken ... but a few years back when i playing Dead Rising on 360, i was trying to get one of the "rescue a whole buncha survivors at once" achievements and the horrendous AI made one of the survivors run repeatedly into a chair ove and over until she was killed.

For like the hundredth time.

I shouted in frustration and whipped the controller across the room (along the floor), where it slammed into the wall. And never played the game again. After that point, the left analog stick always pulled to the left.

Not me, but I've broken a couple through excess use, primarily through frantically shoving down on a direction or a button on a controller to the point where damaged the connectors. This happened to two NES controllers, an SNES controller, and a Genesis controller. I know a friend who actually snapped a PlayStation controller in HALF through the same methodologies.

Mario Party because of the @$^# minigame where you rotate the stick thingie (lol) and GoldenEye 007 because......well I got mad trying to get all cheat codes and stuff like that. $150 worth of controllers I'll never get back. Broke my good yellow banana n64 controller : (

Yep I sure have.
I was playing Mega man X6 and the boss called Gate kept killing me over and over.
I got so frustrated with my fail I threw the controller across the room.
one of the buttons broke but luckily it was only a shoulder button so the controller wasn't completely trashed.
I really wasn't enjoying that game much at all.
I was hell bent on finishing it though and I lost my temper that time.

Nope. Never got angry enough over a video game to even get close to breaking a controller, but I have broken a few due to clumsiness...

Nope

. . . but I have had a family member unintentionally whack the ceiling with one of my Wiimotes playing Wii Sports tennis (this was before the jelly grips) and it still has a dent to this day.

Oh, and I've also wrecked the "Z" button on both a wired and wireless NYKO GameCube controller playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003.
