Ahem, so to get things started, what is everyone's favorite show in the meta series?

Mine is the original Mobile Suit Gundam, sometimes known as Mobile Suit Gundam 0079. I loved the characters and the way they developed. Amuro, Char, Captain Bright, and all the other cast and characters, even some of the minor ones like the Black Tri-Stars, were all memorable. The story itself was also great - it just felt like a war story that could happen in the future. I also loved that there were next to no characters that could be labeled "bad guys". They were all human, as flawed, as kind and as cruel as humans can be. Then there's the battles, which were all well thought out and memorable. The progression of Amuro from an amatuer to a bad*** really helped things along, and allowed for a constant flow of tention from episode to episode. Not to mention the variety of vehicles used (Tanks, jets, Missile cars, battleships, and mobile armors in addition to all different kinds of mobile suits which makes them feel like part of a larger army) and the fantastic mobile suit designs. Lastly, there's the level of detail in the show: every time I watch the show, I find something new that I didn't see before.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I really do love that show. My second favorite is After War Gundam X, which was never shown in the U.S.. I liked it for many of the same reasons as Mobile Suit Gundam, except it had real feeling of a postapocalyptic era instead of a War story. In fact, I liked the story more than in the original Gundam for the most part, except the ending is rather rushed. Plus the mecha designs were ugky and there was less variety in the machines (though there were far more mobile suits used this time around, it's just that mobile armors, tanks, and Jets were virtually nonexistant), all of which put it lower than Mobile Suit Gundam in my eyes.

I've never even heard of this, let alone knowing it was a show.

I used to watch this when I was a kid. Freaking. Awesome.

IMO I thought it was almost as good as Dragon Ball Z.

Mobile Suit Gundam. I remember how awesome the characters were and how addicting the action was. The art quality was great too. Oddly I thought it was better than Sailor Moon's... which I watched as a kid too. I always tuned in when they were on.

Mobile Suit Gundam is a classic. wish I could say the same for Sailor Moon but I don't think it's aged nearly as well
I'm surprised you thought the art quality was great, though. That was the only thing I thought needed improving, and it's why I'm really looking forward to Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin so much. This is the first time they've ever done a full remake before, so I'm hoping it goes well. They've already proven that they can handle a UC Gundam without Tomino with Gundam UC, so I'm staying hopeful.

EDIT: I hope they keep the music mostly in tact. I loved the original soundtrack.

When is Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin coming out? I would definitely buy that in a heart beat if it's going to be out on DVD/Blu Ray. And YES! The soundtrack is flawless I tell you! Flawless!

Wow, thought Mickeymac made this topic, lol.
Anyways I love giant robots and action, but I've never season a season of Gundam. I like it but I've never finished a series. I really want to one day.

I think you'd like G-Gundam the most if you haven't seen it already.

They said 2012, but since there's no PV out for it yet, I'm assuming it'll come later in the year. Unless they do a simultaneous release, though, the U.S. won't get it for at least 4 months after that it comes out on DVD/BD in Japan, which will be sometime after they finishes airing all the episodes.
