Game of the show to me is Final Fantasy VII remake. I still can't believe it is happening. But basically the first 2/3 of Sony's conference (Destiny aside) is the winner.
Other best games would be Xenoblade of course, Cuphead, Star Fox, Super Mario Maker and I follow them on Twitter, so YIIK
Excellent E3 for me. Still stunned by Sony with The Last Guardian and Shenmue 3, two games I was convinced were never ever going to see release. Plenty of new IP going around with Recore, Tacoma, Sea of Thieves, Horizon and Dreams, and great new footage from stuff already announced like Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V, Fallout 4, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Star Wars: Battlefront, Uncharted 4 Kingdom Hearts 3.
Even though it barely exists, Shenmue 3 is the best game/moment of the show personally. That cliffhanger from Shenmue II, all the stuff that's changed in the last 14 years... all the teases/disappointments over the years, wow.
Kinda sad that the biggest news to come out of three gaming companies is a remake.
For what it's worth, it'd be the biggest news at any E3, unless if Half Life 3 was announced. That's more just how game enthusiasts tick than the content at E3.
Honestly, I think this is the best E3 ever, even with Nintendo's horrible presentation. Microsoft, Bethesda, and (especially) Sony absolutely delivered. Ubisoft was great in my opinion, and EA had Unravel and Battlefront. The amount of games that I want to play coming out of this E3 is so high.
Best thread ever

Star Fox Zero is apparently a reimagining of Starfox 64 according to the Treehouse event...WAIT A MINUTE?! Could it be the result of the rumored Re-Umagined line of games?!

No.
I pretty much said that's what it would be after last year's E3, where the game didn't really exist. It was using 64 3D's code and assets from a cancelled Wii game. To turn a game around from start to release in under 18 months had to mean it was treading very similar ground. Just like 64 was pretty much a reimagining of Star Fox.
It really is amazing though, how they keep finding new ways to not give fans what they want. I swear to God, if we don't see Metroid Prime 4 or Galaxy 3 by the end of this gen (preferably next year), I'm done with Nintendo. I'm sick of being peddled nostalgia fueled rehashes and casual BS.
Nintendo was awful with it's digital event. The only decent part was Star Fox, and I'm still not sold on it. The Metroid game on the 3DS is just wasted potential, I might've been interested in that a few years ago, but now it's just ugly and out of place on the 3DS. It would have been amazing on the Wii U, and a the would made the overall event better, but no, they had to make it for the 3DS. Nintendo didn't do anything to make me glad I bought a Wii U today. No new games announced for it, while the PS4 is starting to get rolling for real. It's just unacceptable. If Nintendo doesn't improve it the Wii U's situation, they say good-bye to me ever buying a home console from them ever again until it's years past and if I can get their games a decent price that rather launch price. Nintendo lack of price drops have become more of a problem for me recently, and it makes getting a game from them you're not really sure about really hard to do.
Square Enix gets everyone's hopes up for some big FF7 Remake or FF15 or something news and let's everyone down with the World of Final Fantasy... But then they deliver and show the FF7 Remake!
They do it again with Kingdom Hearts by showing off the mobile game first and then show KH3 right after.
Nintendo shows off the Metroid spin off and then... that's it. Not sure about you guys, but that game just looked disappointing and I'm not even a big Metroid fan. It honestly made me cringe a bit.
The real IRONY is that Nintendo has a strong lineup but they didn't even brag about it in the Direct. They didn't take it too seriously until after the backlash.
There really isn't much I can add about the Digital Event but I will anyway. The puppet thing was stupid, the developer stories and amiibo stuff took way to long, Star Fox was nothing more than re-skin of 64 (some people probably wanted that but not me) plus it looked terrible visually, SMTxFE amazingly looked even lamer than before and I have no idea why any self-respecting individual would want to play that garbage, and what the hell was that Animal Crossing board game supposed to be? The only non-terrible things the Event had going were the Xenoblade X release date (even though it's much later than it should be), the amount and variety of 3DS games, and the charity.
@Bolt_Strike I find your post unbelievably ironic; you asked for two sequels but then said you're tired of nostalgia fueled rehashes.
@Jaz007 Sony by far had the best conference but I wouldn't say the PS4 is rolling quite yet because a lot of the games they showed will also be on PC and others will be lucky if they release in 2016.
Okay, while I will agree 100% that Nintendo has greenlit the wrong games for this year, I think a lot of the failure in the event was the presentation. To prove it, here is how I would have done the event PROVIDED THE SAME GAMES ARE ON THE TABLE(Changes are in bold)
Nintendo Direct Mini:
Chibi-Robo Zip Lash
Dr. Mario Miracle Cure
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon
Puzzles and Dragons DLC
LBX Hyrule Warriors: Legends Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival
Splatoon DLC
Art Academy
Mario and Sonic @ Rio Lucas, Stage, and Trophy updates for Smash Bros
Nintendo Digital Event (In order of how I would have presented it):
1. Mario Maker
-Let's Super Mario
2. Yokai Watch (Trailer)
-Developer Story
DO NOT MENTION THE NX, MOBILE, OR UNIVERSAL
3. Skylanders Supercharged
4. Project Treasure
5. SMT X FE
6. Fire Emblem: Fates
7. The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
-Developer Story
8. Metroid: Federation Force and Metroid: Blast Ball
-Developer Story with Next Level Games
9. Roy and Ryu Trailers
-Developer Story with Sakurai
10. Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash
11. Yoshi's Woolly World (No developer story, just a short trailer)
12. Xenoblade Chronicles X
13. Fatal Frame: U
-Developer Story
14. Devil's Third
15. Bravely Second
16. Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
17. Star Fox Wii U (With Opening Credits featuring Platinum Games logo, no developer story)
Here is the logic behind my changes. This new layout basically creates a set of games announced at E3 that are diverse in audience, and that generate hype. Fatal Frame, Project Treasure, and Devil's Third were brought in to convey to the audience that Nintendo is trying to cater to mature audiences, and that they have 3rd parties in mind. I might have tried to get a Guitar Hero segment in the event, but that's not fully up to Nintendo, so I'm not sure it's "on the table". Roy+Ryu and Bravely Second were brought in because they would have more hype power. The Animal Crossing games were removed because of this.
Developer stories are focused on games that need some explaining and attention. Yokai Watch and Metroid: Federation Force aren't games that were conveyed perfectly with their trailers, hence why Nintendo should have given some developer showcase time, ESPECIALLY Yokai Watch, given the scale they want it to have. In regards to Fatal Frame, I don't think the game is completely unviable to western audiences, hence why I think it'd make a lot of sense for Nintendo to give the game a proper explanation.
The particular order of games was chosen such that the presentation never luls for too long. There is always a relatively big announcement every so often.
Lastly, when Reggie mentioned the NX, Smartphones, and Universal along with these announcements, it was a giant kick in the crotch to fans. It was basically saying "We have an insane amount of awesome stuff coming next year that we aren't going to talk about today, instead, here are all out stop-gap games"
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

...Huh. I actually think that could've worked a lot better. You think that Earthbound Beginnings should've been thrown in there, as well?
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

Oh yeah I completely forgot about that. I don't know where I would include that, considering that I made this whole setup without considering Beginnings.

The Last Guardian. Granted, I'm a ol' big sap, but I almost cried when Sony showed it off. I'd wanted that game so dearly for so long, and over the past couple of years I'd slowly accepted that it just wasn't ever going to happen. After all these years of troubled development, I don't think most people would've blamed Sony for just cutting their losses and moving on, so I'm over the moon that that isn't the case.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force also almost made me cry, but for entirely different reasons.
