That would have been something if S Africa had won. They played their hearts out in the last game, and it looks like they did in this one, too. Nothing against the other teams, but I want someone not from Europe or South America to win for once!

Well, Spain is at least is in a very well deserved third rank. Not bad, i supose.

What the... Half-time and it's 2-0 to the USA, and no I'm not lying. Great game, Brazil looked stunned! Gonna be an interesting 2nd half for sure.

The US wore themselves out in the first half. Oh well, it was their first FIFA final, and they played amazing. What an odd game. 2 US goals in the first half; 3 (should have been 4) Brazil goals in the second.

Unlucky USA you nearly outplayed the best team in the world. You should be proud of what you achieved though .See you at the world cup.

Phew, this was nearly one of the oddest World tournaments ever... specially if USA ends up winning!

I agree with Adam, I also wish some more humbles countries winning these tournaments. I foresee that an African/Asian country could get to the final next year (surely Egypt or Turkey).

That was harsh I really thought they might do it, but when that early 2nd half goal went in I think a bit of the confidence went. Which was a shame cos USA looked really good in the 1st half (that 2nd goal was a beaut), Brazil looked stunned! Oh well...

I take it that you were stunned about Mike the cripple? Oh well, it's not like we didn't dislike him already after he took Newcastle's cash. There's a great photoshop of him holding the scarf above his head saying "I wish I was Torres...", the truth is always funny.

I'm looking forward to next season's Champions League, Real Madrid to get knocked out by United/Liverpool in the Quarter Finals AGAIN...It'll be delicious to see Ronny and his rich boys FAIL HARD.

Well what can I say it's been an intresting week to say the least. Very suprised by Owen's signing but having thought it over I reckon it's a pretty shrewd move by Fergie he got a really good deal when you think about it. You look at Owen's record and it's world class, alright Newcastle was a nightmare for him ,but this thing about him being injury prone is overblown. He played quite a lot of games for Newcastle and lets face it he was surrounded by very average players.Who knows what he might do at United!! Rememeber Sheringham and Larsson? they both did a job for us. Even if the only goal he scores is the winner at anfield then he will have been worth every penny.
Suprised that were not buying anyone else. Valencia's got some big shoes to fill and i've not seen mush of Obertan. Fergie's putting a lot of faith in Wellbeck and Macheda but he's been right about a lot of these young un's so far so I guess we gotta trust his judgement. I do think rooney will score more this season as hopefully with Ronny gone then he can revert back to a more central role instead of his current left back position! And hopefully Berbatov will finally deliver what we know he can do, if only he could be arsed!!
It will be intresting to see what City will do next season with their 8 world class strikers especially if they get John Terry as well cause they were sorley lacking a decent defence.Time will tell!!!

Like yourself, I'm slowly getting used to the idea, and the moment I saw him in the United shirt with the scarf over his head, I softened (slightly). I live in the north-west so an ex-scouser joining United really had me torn for a few days, but, in Sir Alex we trust and as long as he goal hangs like we know he can, then he's gonna get a few goals (on the cheap). And yes, if he scores at Anfield and kisses the badge, it'll all be worth it.
Valencia I'm pretty meh about, but my brother assures me he's gonna do great. I hope so.
And Tevez is a blue-nose, what the... my self moderation won't allow to me say the many bad things I think about him. Not impressed.

Pretty strange transfer window so far and I'm glad we're out of it, I have faith in the boys we've got. Just want the football to start now, can't wait!

Tevez's signing nearly drove me over the edge LOL. I live in Manchester and know quite a few City fans so that's all I've heard all day NOT GOOD!! Thing is I'm not sure he'll get more games at City what with all the f****n strikers theyv'e got!! At the end of the day United won't be held to ransom for a player and you've gotta respect that. I thought Tevez was great but not irreplacable so f**k him. Should be an intesting season though. I'm like you I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Just out of interest, which area of Manchester are you from?

How many strikers does one team need, its City's defence that needs sorting but they have 7 first team strikers and are still trying to buy another (Adebyor).

It's like if a girl played Champ Manager.

@Stevie: Ask Mark Hughes, he's the guy who's supposedly 'running' the shop at City (YEAH RIGHT!). Their defence is god awful, they needed players like Hangeland who could do a great job, be reliable and are reasonably priced, instead they try for Terry...yeah, Terry at City...then again Robinho at City sounded ridiculous too...

@nintendoduffin: I'm not from Manchester, but every generation before me was. My great, great, great, great Uncle was a guy called Billy Meredith, you may have heard of him. First went to Old Trafford when I was 8 and still do. Just in case you were looking to question my allegiances.

Anyway, back to why I dug this thread out. Help me decide which United shirt to get people because I can't (and I can't justify buying both), what about Luigi78, you getting one this season? If so which one? I can't decide!!!
