Me too with the Gameboy, but quite recently I tried the same games on the GBC and it was better so I guess it's the GBC.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
i'm surprised how many people said the n64. is it b/c it was the first console you grew up with?
The Nintendo 64 had its fair share of brilliant classics that are still very impressive, even to this day. For many that's enough to make it their all time favorite console. Sure, good lot of them are clouded by nostalgia, but there's nothing wrong with that, really, especially for this topic. Personally, I felt that the Nintendo 64 has long since failed the test of time, but I still boot up my old faithful for another go at the classics I have and always will love.
the n64 def. had some classics for sure, but if you look at the library as a whole i just don't think it has nearly as many all-time greats as other systems.

Favorite Console is probably the Wii, to be honest. It's got the best of practically every franchise, you can download pretty much any retro game you'd ever want, and it's backwards compatible with the gamecube. Favorite handheld is easily the DSi.

Unless it's a licensed game, an incredibly obscure game, a game that's made by a rival company(see RARE), a game from publishers and/or developers that no longer exist, or simply doesn't come out before the end of the Wii's lifetime, which will be a lot of games if Ninty continues to release less that 50 games a year.
Sorry, had to nitpick.
But in all seriousness, the Virtual console does have a nice selection, but it still has a long, looong way to go before it has "every retro game you could possibly want."
