Topic: Failed Projects

Ever had something that you were gun-hoe about and thought you'd go after with all your ambition, but then later just sort of didn't do? This is were to post about it. We've all had our far share of failed projects.

I tried so hard to make it, but there were just too many complications. No family has the kind of weirdness that you can find in this thread that lasted not even a whole day. Mass polygamy, mating the same person over and over again despite being the great-great-great-etc.-grandmother of who they're mating with, etc. Lines just wouldn't do it justice.

Do any of you have a failed project?

i tried makeing a hack called mariomon for pokemon ruby but then someone all ready made it for pokemon firered

Pretty much every RPG/game I wanted to try and make...kept running into problems and no one seemed to care to help me. >_>

In high school I tried writing a book called "Mideaval Rivalry". Got through the first 5-6 chapters, then quit for some reason :/

An english teacher had even agreed to proof-read & correct errors for me.

I'm sorry, but you set yourself up for this one. Was the title to be included in the proofreading?

Many things, some of which I've told myself I'll get back to.

• Various websites, blogs I've thought about/started setting up.
• Warhammer 40k armies (to be fair, I moved overseas and couldn't bring these with me, but currently they're sitting in storage)
• Game programming (I keep telling myself I need to buy a new PC to get stuck into this seriously)

That's off the top of my head. I'm sure there are others.

Unfortunately there's limited time to do things, and I tend to get interested in a lot of different things. I'm at the point where it's necessary to simply stop myself picking up new hobbies, otherwise I'll end up spending a lot of money on a lot of different things but never get much out of any of them.

My wife and I don't even have any kids yet!

Actually contributing to the topic I once thought up a book series. I even finished the first book! I was little and it was a Goosebumps wannabe inspired book though...lol. You choose your own adventure. I got half way through making the second book, but stopped. I never finished it or made anymore.
I also currently have an idea for a manga. I haven't abandoned it. I've actually been focusing on making the plot as great and not cliche as I can. I just haven't done anything with it yet. Just some character portraits.

Learning Japanese, being a street fighter 4 master, same applies to Mortal Kombat. Although I have a very respectable record in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, but I think no one cares about that game(except me). :/

On a slightly more serious note, I've spent my entire life trying to work out a comicbook series. That series hasn't left the planning stages in over 15 years.

The game I was making in Construct 2, the game I was making in RPG Maker, the game I was making in IG Maker, the game I was making in JavaScript... but the latter might actually be finished
