Topic: Does anyone wear "Silly Bandz"?

This person has an idea I like.

My little brother has them.
I think they're horrendously stupid, and I can barely stand seeing the poor children who were "forced" to buy them by their fellow pupils. It's only a matter of time before someone "accidentally" starts choking on one, the company is sued, and these works of Satan go out of production.

Why would you ever want to wear a rubber band? especially if it's shaped, it won't look like anything once you put it on :s

No, I used to own a slap bracelet though.

I've never even heard of these till now. So the answer is no, I don't wear them and I don't plan on starting. Kids are interested in the strangest things. They just look really stupid.

Those things make me want puke. Ugh.

Anyway, I don't wear them, but I'm in 8th grade, and a LOT of people, boys and girls, in my grade are wearing them. I really don't see the point though....

My sister has about 25 of them and I think they are so annoying. Are these popular in Europe too or are they only popular in America? I'm in 8th grade as well and many people are wearing them.

I swear, companies find new ways to sell completely pointless stuff every day...

You know, I cannot think about these things without thinking about Livestrong bracelets at the same time, 'cuz you know what? Those became super popular really quickly 5 years ago at my school and faded just as fast. I don't get what people see in these things. They're just shaped rubber bands. SHAPED RUBBER BANDS.

Now that I'm thinking about it, whoever first came out with this idea is a genius. When this fad passes in a few months, the company who created Silly Bandz will have made millions, if not billions of dollars and the creator will be (if not already) set for life.

I had some but gave mine all away. They were getting uncomfortable to wear.

I do. I have my girlfriend's name, my favorite number, and a key (I like to pretend it's a keyblade =P ).

I think they're pretty clever. I'm always amazed at what people buy en masse. I still remember Garbage Pail kids from when I was a kid. They were pretty huge amongst all the people I hung around. There is always SOME kind of silly "collectible" that is the latest and greatest craze. The only thing about Silly Bandz that I hate is that I didn't think of it first.

My daughter turns 7 soon and we just put together some "gift bags" for her friends that are coming to her birthday party. One of the things we included were Silly Bandz.

I can't even imagine how raged I would get if this jackass VP cut something off my kids.

Don't have any. Never seen anyone wear any. Never even heard about them until now.
What I have heard about however, are slap bracelets. I'm actually pretty sure I have a slap bracelet with a leopard pattern around somewhere. I love wearing it, it makes me look sexy.

My school has just started getting into them. Needless to say, I have 3 (A deer, an owl, and a school bus) but people gave them to me. They're actually kinda cool.
