Topic: Do you juggle playing multiple games simultaneously or just play one at a time?

I'm really curious on how gamers handle playing games. Do you play them one at a time or juggle multiple games simultaneously like I do?

I used to play only one game at a time, but now it looks like those days are over. Somehow, I managed to fall into this possibly bad habit of playing multiple games at once. I'll play one game for one day, several days, or a week; and then play another game for a certain period of time. Now it has gotten to the point where I'm juggling about eight games (Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Super Mario Sunshine, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, Plants vs. Zombies, Need for Speed Rivals, 3D Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario 3D World, and Super Mario 3D Land).

And to make matters ''worse'', I would like to play three additional games (Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Mario Kart 7); but I just don't see how playing all those games at once is even possible. But I would really like to somehow complete Dream Team (which I'm only fifteen to seventeen hours in), DKCR 3D, and 3D World before Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze comes out. I highly doubt that will happen, but I'm going to try.

So basically what I'm saying is that I do some insane juggling when it comes to games. I have a short attention span, so juggling kind of helps with that and prevents me from getting ''burned out'' on one game. I hope to eventually get to the point where I'm only playing two to three games at once. But when you have 1,074 games in your BL (and rising), that m...

So what about you? Do you play games one at a time? Or do you play multiple games simultaneously and how many if you do so? And why do you do it?

I'm usually a complete a game before I touch anything kind of guy but I really got treated this christmas, between all the cash from further relatives and gifts from my parents and girlfriend I got five Wii U games, and 6 Nintendo 3DS games. I'm trying to beat Pokemon Y, get into motions of Rune Factory 4, and finish the last 15 minutes of Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

Then I'm doing my best to get into Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, While finishing the last worlds of 3D World, and I haven't even started Pikmin 3. I only have 5 hours into Wonderful 101, and I have to finish my run in Wind Waker HD. Needless to say it's overwhelming and I wish I didn't get myself into this mess, I feel overwhelmed about my favorite hobby. This weekend is the last one before College starts up again so it's going to be busy.

With my current "super awesome flashy new game" I usually play it exclusively until I lose interest.

But there are always games I can continue playing in short bursts even after their newness wears off, mostly little time wasters and minigame collections.

Others come in "seasons", I can randomly decide to go back to playing something after months of not touching it just because I feel like it and continue playing it until I lose interest again.

Hmmm I guess a bit of both really. I usually play one game at a time for awhile but then I will get a new game and stop playing the game I was playing to play the new game and so on and so on. Because of this I usually don't finish alot of games cause when I finally get back to a game I have no idea what I was doing or where I was going so I start over in the game. It's just a never ending cycle for me.

So while I only play one game at a time I have a bunch of unfinished games on the side waiting for me to get back to.

I usually play 2 games at a time (one console, one portable).

If I get stuck or frustrated though, I might wind down with something more casual (Alleyway, Zen Pinball, etc.).

I've gone overboard and have eight games that I've gotten recently, haven't beaten any of them yet... o.o

...I'm pretty close in M&L:DT and LoZ:ALBW (at the final boss), though...

I'm in the mood for different genres on different days. Sometimes I'll be playing 10-20 games at once, thanks to Steam.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

You know, I've been feeling the same way lately.

Now, I still play my 3DS often, but when I get the TV, I find myself watching movies more & more, compared to gaming (despite getting two games for Christmas, I'm only like 15%-17% done with one, and haven't even started the other)...

I have a bad habit of playing too many games at once and never finishing any of them lol. Wish I could break that habit.

1-3 over each of my gaming machines (5 machines total, 4 Nintendo, 1 PC), as well as some very light mucking about on my brother's 360. I've changed from when I was a kid, i want to get through each games with no cheating (if possible) as apposed to playing a heap of games and leaving them unfinished. It does however mean I collect a huge backlog of games, my Wii and DS was considerable before I got the 3DS and Wii U.

I tend to do a lot at once, but at this point I've given up on caring too much if I have to ignore a game for a while because of that.

This is mainly because I'm a bit too patient on these things or don't feel like playing a game sometimes so I always have too much to do. This is rarely a bad thing but it's not always ideal either. Lately I've been mainly playing 4 games, have had 3 games I've stopped playing for a bit, and 2 games I've not started yet. And another game I stopped playing a while ago but it doesn't matter because the game is pretty much exactly a decade old so who cares?

I think having variety is better but it's become ridiculous lately. But at the end of the day it's not like I don't like these games as much because of it or gaming in general so...whatever.

I usually play one at a time on a console plus one on a handheld and I always complete everything eventually. That said I fell into some bad habits with the 3DS last year. I blame Animal Crossing! I still haven't finished Pokemon (thanks to a variety of gaming distractions such as Zelda ALBW and Tearaway, both of which I did complete) but I have almost finished Mario and Luigi. I need to get back into Oracle of Ages but I got frustrated by the hideous Goron rhythm mini game.

I do that more and more each day, especially when I have the game as a download on my systems. Looking at my Activity Log for my 3ds and Wii U, it's like I play at least 7 different games each day.

Just yesterday I played Animal Crossing, FE:Awakening, Pokemon X, A Link Between Worlds, Mii Plaza (including the dlcs), CR: Photo Finder on the 3ds and Wind Waker, Scribblenauts Unlimited on the Wii U. Funny thing about Fire Emblem is that I got the game since launch and I'm still only up to chapter 21. I blame the streetpass and dlc.

I used to play a game for a while then just switch to a new one when I got it. That left me with a lot of half-finished games that I would end up restarting and the unfortunate cycle would continue, leaving me with the backlog I have today. Nowadays, I usually try to focus on one game per console. Sometimes I juggle a few games at a time, but I prefer to focus my attention on a single game until it's beaten.
