I don't know why but cereal is more of a snack food for me then a breakfast food, especially late at night. Most of the time when I am watching tv at night that's what I am munching on. In fact I just finished off the last bit of Frute Brute that we had last night while binge watching Gargoyles on Disney+

I used to like Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but I had to quit eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch because of breaking out after eating a bowl, and I just stopped eating cereal all together eventually.

Cereal is the best. Toast is too dry, pancakes are too thick when I make them once every blue moon, cereal just has this really nice moisture and flavour to it. Some part of me thinks I have too much of it (two or three bowls a day; one for breakfast, one after I get home, and rarely one at night to keep me going) but I'm also pretty active so overall it cancels out since I burn it all away. Anything oat-related from Kelloggs'll do it!

Sometimes when I travel and end up in really nice hotels I do go for it, but my appetite generally is quite small so the buffet cost is wasted every time.

@NontendoByNature - Funny you bring up nut milk adventures as my wife ordered an Almond Cow nut milk maker, and it arrived yesterday. We will be making our own nut milk this weekend. We’re going to make PB&J milk for sure, and I’d like to make one I call the Nilsson Schmilsson: coconut lime. I’ll keep you posted.

@Tasuki - I enjoyed some dry Frute Brute last night while catching up on She Hulk. I guess the original was cherry cereal with lime flavored marshmallows, but they got rid of the lime flavor for the re release.

@Rambler - What’s the difference?

I always found Tsutomu Miyazak fascinating, he used to drink his victim's blood and his antics was blamed on being a geek/otaku with anime making him do all that crazy stuff.

Oh wait, CEREAL not serial, by bad!

@bimmy-lee Yeah the original had lime marshmallows or so I have read, it was a bit before my time. However when they re-released it about 10 years ago, it had the like marshmallows then, why they changed it who knows. Also it was called Fruit Brute maybe the different spelling is to reflect the change in marshmallows??

The one I really liked was Yummy Mummy. That one had orange marshmallows with vanilla cereal pieces and that tasted like and orange cream soda or popsicle. I wish they brought that one back this year.

From what I hear, Froot is the name of the specific flavor they use in Froot Loops and Apple Jacks. So perhaps Froot Brute uses that same flavor.

@Eel That might be it maybe because it doesn't contain any fruit the have to spell it Frute as opposed to Fruit because some ***** will try and sue them for false information.

The first time I heard Froot name was from Froot by Marina and the Diamonds. 😅

It's always weird seeing people talk about well known American cereal that's not so well known outside of America because they're deemed too unhealthy and can't be sold in other countries. And then there are some that are available but by different name. Like, I've heard of the some of the ones mentioned in this thread but I've never seen them. I had Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or at least its European equivalent once and it was pure torture.

I wouldn't say I'm a cereal lover but Nestlé Fitness Yogurt is something I have for breakfast quite often. Sometimes I go for Lion instead.

My favorite cereal is a little boring, but it's Life. It's just super refreshing and isn't too sweet, so to me, it feels a little healthy compared to others.

But I do like other sweet cereals, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Frosted Flakes.

Went to the store and came back with a haul of unhealthy cereal. Reeses puffs, Halloween crunch( from the captain), and boo berry. Can't wait for my milk to turn green!

My kids don’t really get junky cereal, but I get them some special cereal treats a few times a year. We’re working through the classics. Last year during monster cereal season, they got Frankenberry and BooBerry. This morning they get to try Count Chocula and Frute Brute.

This will be the first time in probably 35 years that I’ve partaken in the Count. I’ve always loved the fruity monsters, and never been real big into chocolate cereal. From memory, it’s pretty light on the chocolate flavor compared to something like Cocoa Puffs or Chocolate Pebbles. I will/do keep you posted.

@Tasuki - I didn’t realize Frute Brute had been re released prior to this year, I was happy to see him. It was a little before my time as well, I think he got discontinued in 81/82, so I was probably still eating with my hands. I love the cherry/lime combination, but I would guess maybe GM found it a bit odd and even a bit extreme by the standards of 2012. Thanks to my grandma’s magical cereal drawer, I had Yummy Mummy a few times before she was discontinued. She really needs to make her comeback.
