There are hundreds, possibly thousands or even millions of minigames out there. That is to say, there is a lot of them. More often than not, they're completely throwaway and unmemorable. But occasionally (at least in my experience), you run across a very well made minigame that you actually want to play for long periods of time, whether just to get a highscore or something else. I've run across a few good time-killers in my gaming experience, and they are as follows:
A couple of these are from Mario Party Advance, which I do agree with some that this game was not entirely great; it did have a few good games. Both of the games I chose are really fast-paced and simple, and that makes them fun:
The first one is Melon Folley, which has you jumping across platforms that fall after you stand on them in order to collect every watermelon, and collect the melon last. It requires quick thinking, and is incredibly fun and is good for taking up short amounts of time.
Secondly, we have Stompbot XL, which has you frantically avoiding the crashing lava waves approaching from behind in the titular vehicle. It has a lot of pattern memorization and, again, is good for taking up time.
Third, I choose (almost) all of the minigames in PvZ. For the most part, they are all great, but there are a few clunkers, as there always is in any minigame collection.
Tick Tock Hop - Honestly, its one of the reasons why I love Mario Party 3 more.....you heard me, lol.
I can't remember their names, but back then I enjoyed the minigames from the Super Mario 64 DS.
Catch of the Day - It's Rhythm Heaven, need I say more? lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.

Yeah this. Again, despite loving the original, it was my favorite part of the remake. Oh the Luigi Casino games, all my time spent on that...
Super Monkey Ball 2 I'd use as the example except it's kinda like the Wii Sports games where they are probably above being called just minigames. Maybe.
Warioware is also a good example but only the GBA games.

Playing Poker with Luigi in NSMB, which I think was ripped from MPDS. I spent many an hour on this.
Not sure if counts as a minigame, but I enjoyed fishing enourmously in LoZ:TP. OoT's fishing is alright, but not nearly as many options.
Not sure what it was called, but in one of the Mario Parties for the N64, their was this dogfighting (aireal combat) minigame, where everyone was in a little plane, and you could shoot a Bullet Bill at the other players. I spent entire game sessions playing that over & over.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Bob-omb Squad in Super Mario 64 DS has to be my favorite. I enjoyed chaining up points across the two screens and hitting Lakitu to clear the skies of Bob-ombs. When it gets crazy fast, making that accurate shot for Lakitu is essential.
"The secret to ultimate power lies in the Alimbic Cluster."
I forgot these two from Kirby Mass Attack:
It's a Kirby scrolling shooter. What more could you want? I've spent a lot of time on this trying to get a new high score!
Just a pinball game, but it's a lot of fun!
