It depends who's on duty, most of the nurses won't allow it. But, there is a one nice lady who brings me violent games and cigarettes, so long as I've been good and haven't eaten any toilet rolls recently.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Well considering I'm over 17, I can play any M games I want. But my parents never stopped me from playing them when I was a teenager anyway. Besides, I was responsible about it.
@Magi I think that's a good idea. You should judge each game individually, still taking the ratings into account. My uncle lets his 7-year-old play Halo all the time, which I find kind of disturbing. Here's a kid who loves Pokemon and cartoons, but he's also comfortable with blowing the limbs off of space aliens in a rather gory game. :/ I told him about the age ratings but he's obviously ignoring my advice. Guess he doesn't care.
Well yeah, but I'm 19 so I can basically play any game I want. But honestly, the only M rated games I have are God Of War on my PSP and GTA chinatown wars on DS. I wasn't allowed to play "M" rated games when I was younger though.
I love rpgs and platformers the most... racing games are good too! I have a black dsi and a blue 3DS. :D "Sometimes we put up walls, not to keep people out, but rather to see who will take the time to break them down." 3DS friend code: 3695 0029 5257
My parents don't care much. I once played House of the Dead: Overkill with my mom not even ten feet away and after I told her I wasn't watching a commercial she went back to not caring. Then again, she also let me buy it when I was right next to her at Gamestop discussing what I'd heard about it with some of the employees there. I feel my mom knows I'm responsible enough to know what's appropriate and what's not.
I'm 25 but I've been playing M-rated games before there was even an M-rating. No negative side effects, I mean I don't get the urge to go on a killing spree... often...
I play, and I'm only 13. Needless to say, I'm preety responsible about it. I don't even play that much, anyway. My friend let me borrow Sims2 for the Xbox (not 360) and that's all I've been playing for a while.
I think that it's disturbing when I hear 5 and 6 talking about COD MW2 and Madworld. Goes to show how irresponsible some parents can be.
*5 and 6 year old kids
Yeah, my personal belief (and probably my mom's) about the rating system is that it's more of a suggestion than a strict law. What I mean by that is that it's meant to keep 5 and 6 year olds away from COD and Madworld, not a person who turns 13 tomorrow from SSBB.

Yes. It's of my belief, and my parents, that games don't have that "Oh, hey, I cut a guy in half with a chainsaw in a video game, lets go to the shed and try it out on grandpa!" effect. If your parents talk to you about this stuff and are actually good parents, violent games shouldn't be a problem. You should know it's all fake and that doing something like that in real life would be beyond horrible.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

My parents followed restrictions pretty close when I was a kid. They also thought an M rated game meant you had to be 18 when you had to be 17. But when I was 17 I was working near full time and sometimes got off work when they were in bed and then I would bring in the M rated game ( so they would not flip out ). I remember when my brother bought me Turok 2 when I was 15 or 16 and they flipped lol. Well anyways I am almost 30 so I can of course play M rated games. But as I look at my collection about 2/3 to 3/4 of the 180 games in my collection are T rated or less.
I was desensitized to violence when I was really young. I remember watching Hell Raiser when I was 10, great movie if you like the gore genre of horror movies. My mom was pretty cool about what I played, she figured if I understood it and didn't act upon it then it was OK by her.
