*dolls.
Putting an apostrophe in a word doesn't make it plural.

@Eel

I'm well aware of that. I was only repeating what was told to me years ago as a kid. I just wondered if there was any truth to it or if my generation (millennial's) I'm in is full of bs from back then.

@Blindsquarel

No not all. Only those that are possessed by an evil spirit.

@Sanderev

In Child's Play the "Good Guy doll" Chuckie was possessed by an evil spirit of a murder. I saw it when it was in theater originally in 1989 when I was 2. My dad didn't realize what type of movie it was. Thinking by the name it was a kids movie. I ended up watching it half way through in the theater then years later rewatching it along with the movie sequels. Toy Story is cute but more fiction. Toy's don't magically come to life as soon as there doll owner leaves the room then start discussing stuff lol.

@Maxenmus

Actually any object can be possessed especially doll's. It just depends on who ever the doll owner was of what ever doll. I have little tikes talking t pete doll that came to my house possessed. My Cockatiel figured it out. I have 2 of the same doll that came & Sunny (my pet cockatiel) he hissed at the that was possessed & was walking backwards from it while the other pete he walked right up to & gave kisses to. When I had a dog years ago (Missy) she did something similar she would growl or show teeth at a certain object. Other objects she would walk up to & lick. Animals can sense the supernatural. I have no intent of ever owning a Chuckie doll from Child's Play when I was in elementary school I actually knew a guy in my 5th grade class (year 1999) that had a Chuckie doll from Child's Play & he told me he could tell it to attack someone & it would actually do it... The only Chuckie doll I do own is from Rugrats Crying Chuckie Finster doll when the movie Rugrats In Paris was released. I bought him new back then. Still have him & he still works.

@Link-Hero

Yeah I was in elementary school at the time & knew a girl 2 grades below me in the 90's it actually happened to. She told me she had the doll a little to close to her because she was holding her doll in her arms & it was a little to close to her hair. Somehow it got started eating her hair. Long story short she came to school with a boys bowl cut hair style. Her hair was cut a little above her ears & she was in tears & wanted nothing more to do with her cabbage patch snacktime kid doll. She tried giving it to me but I already got one used at the thrift store in working condition so passed plus I didn't totally trust mine as well. I had short hair unfortunately but wasn't super worried about it eating my hair because I kept it on my dresser at night far away from my bed lol.

I've played with that toy actually. My cousin had it. It was pretty impressive back then.

Unfortunately it wasn't tested properly; long hair could very easily go in with the food, and it would get tangled inside. No evil, just a little bit of negligence.

Also I had no idea the original version of the theme from the exorcist was that long.

@Barbiegurl777 I saw Child's Play when I was a bit older, but not much and honestly - I also didn't know what the movie was about and was in for quite a scare. It was a 1988 movie, I was 4 then, but I saw it - I think in the early 90s.

I also saw Toy Story on VHS in 95 (me being 11) and by then for me it was a fun kid story about friendship between toys. It was only years later that I started to see the true story the movie was trying to tell. And honestly, there is a bit of a darkness there. Betrayal, and the toys vs Sid. And you can actually notice some of those dark themes in most Pixar movies.

The original Toy Story draft was much darker. They even had a name for it: Black Friday.

@Barbiegurl777 one of my aunts has a glass/vintage doll collection in her single upstairs room. They don't scare me... Carol Channing scares me.

Ditto. I agree cabbage patch snacktime kid doll is impressive. It just freaked me out not being able to find the on & off switch lol. I looked everywhere on that doll for an on & off switch & couldn't find one. Then watching the news & in my mind I'm like aww heck no you gotta be kidding me~ 🤦‍♀️🤣 Literally I looked at the recalled cabbage patch doll on the TV screen at my house then at the girl cabbage patch snacktime kid doll sitting on our couch & that's how I figured out which cabbage patch doll I got. I didn't know her official name until seeing her recalled in the news lol~ Who ever donated mine to the thrift store for me to get there later must not have played with mine very much because she looked like brand new with everything. I seriously bought her because she was a mechanical doll & also a cabbage patch doll. I love mechanical doll's of all sorts. Starbrite Sparkles was my first mechanical doll & also what started my love / passion of mechanical doll's back then. Not sure why mechanical doll's freaked people out in my generation (millennial's) I can take them apart & fix them if there's a mechanical issue since I was a kid. I used to have my doll's divided for working & non working category in my room. I would tinker with the non working doll's & usually fix them then decide if I wanted to keep them or send them off to my cousin's house for them to enjoy. I had new mechanical doll's I got for holidays or birthdays but I also got some used at the thrift stores. Most of the time the used ones worked every once in a while I would really have to operate & perform doll surgery, amputate a doll arm or doll leg & switch it with a same kind from other doll that would be the same doll make / brand. Other times tighten a bolt, see what was going on with the motherboard etc. Just did doll eye transplant surgery about a year ago on my blonde girl Baby Talk doll by Galoob~ She has brown blinking eyes now instead of ocean blue. It was the only normal eye color I could get her blinking eyes in the right size. The other blinking eyes online had glitter pink or purple in them. I just wanted a traditional color. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️✌️

Uhhh in 1995 I was 8 but watched ironically alot stuff that was very mature for my age. I enjoyed stuff like Clarissa Explains It All, Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Saved By The Bell, Saved By The Bell The College Years, R rated movies. I watched the kiddie stuff as well like rugrats, muppet babies, beetlejuice cartoon, Animaniac's, Hey Arnold, All That, The Amanda Show, Barney etc. I saw it in 1989 in the theaters maybe they were showing it at a later run time or something. I remember watching it in the theater though & falling asleep half way through. My favorite I saw when I was 2 was Who Framed Roger Rabbit personally. I still have it on VHS tape from the 90's it still works we just don't have a VHS tape player to play it on lol. Luckily I got it on DVD & blue ray this past year with bonus episodes etc yay~ 🥰

@Kermit1

You mean porcelain doll's? I'm not afraid of them either so much as afraid of braking them accidentally. I've owned maybe 4 in my whole life. 2 broke the other 2 gave to an aunt who was more into them than me because had them sitting on a high shelf in my room to afraid to touch them for fear they would break. The expression a bull in a China shop fits well with me & porcelain doll's to the point I've decided not to own any porcelain doll's in my doll collection just from previous experience with them but do think there pretty to look at from a distance. 🤷‍♀️✌️ Just looked up Carol Channing to see movies, tv etc. I didn't know she did voice acting in the cartoon 2 Stupid Dogs. Loved that cartoon back then~ 🤣 Anyone remember Mindy & Buttons from Animaniac's? That was one of my favorite mini cartoon skits in Animaniac's~ 🤣

The legend of evil CPKs comes directly from the mechanical munch line that was recalled due to not having any on/off switch, or governor of any kind to only eat certain objects, or to stop eating said object. As long as it sensed something in its mouth, it would continue to eat. Voraciously.

They did injure some kids by smashing some curious fingers and even eating their hair at night in bed. Hence, some unlucky 80s kids woke up to their beloved new CPK attached to their head, aggressively trying to eat their brains.

I’d recommend the much more wholesome GPK line. I’m trying to get the entire 1985 poster set framed, but it’s slow going because mounting and framing is so expensive. I couldn’t afford flat sheets, so I bought the whole set folded. They’re turning out very nice though by flattening and back boarding them.

Skynet warned us of this. You're all just too stuck in your MTV and wavey sugary cereal ways to pick up on it.

I've sent out an SOS to Kyle Reese. The dolls WILL be dealt with.

@NintendoByNature - Is it weird that my My Buddy doll is always in a different spot than where I left him? I can’t find an on/off switch or a battery bank anywhere on him, I think he’s solar powered.

@Maxenmus Wile I perfectly happy with the toy story we have now obviously. The idea of a villain protagonist in a Disney movie is cool. Animated Disney movie.

Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

Sorry for not being active much recently, but I’m very much alive!

NintendoByNature

@bimmy-lee NOT weird. It's all part of Charles Lee Ray's plan in conjunction with skynet.

Times are a changing. It's only a matter of time before Geoffrey gets his grubby mitts on his own line of life like dolls to ruin all life like dolls moving forward.

@NintendoByNature - Those were the days. Nobody even cared about evil murder dolls in closets. My parents would have been angry with me if I had bothered them with this news. I just had to live with it, and you know what? It made me stronger. I could have easily been in the Monster Squad. I probably would have been the leader.

I must been smart in 1996 when I got my cabbage patch snacktime girl doll by keeping her on my dresser at night back then. I just got an eerie feeling I shouldn't have her sleep in my bed with me as a kid. Glad I went with my gut feeling back then lol. It's funny you mention My Buddy doll. Last year I finally got around to replacing my blonde Kid Sister doll from 1995 also got used at the thrift store back then. My mom threw her away in 1999 when I was in school & didn't bother to say a word to me except I went frantic looking for her & ended up in tears. Anyway's I swore back then if I ever replaced her I would replace her with the brunette My Buddy doll which I did & got the brunette Blinking My Buddy doll. His name is Junior (From the movie: Problem Child) 🤣 I sleep with him on my bed every night along with Little Tikes Talking T Pete, Amazing Amanda, Baby Brother Tender Love (Henry), Cabbage Patch Baby So Real, Star Belly Dream Lite blue puppy (Blue)~ 🥰🤣👍 My My Buddy is such an angel he lays on my bed & has such a relaxed look on his face. I dress him in baby clothes from 3 to 9 month's & brush his hair with a rapunzel baby wet brush but I use the baby wet brush for all of my doll's along with a elmo & cookie monster baby brush~ 🤣 I have a boy cabbage patch snacktime kid doll red head but I don't have his batteries in him right now but he works. 😎🔥👍
