Tile is just that, and thanks for the reply about gravity. I suggest we go back to deciding the game's setting, character and so. Game engine specifics can be looked at later when a good concept is working.
Edit: I agree about that, my personal opinion is to go a style similar to the classic Mario, but with a story backing it to add some atmosphere to it.
Well I'm not entirely sure if we are going to use the whole gravity control thing seeing as like Raylax said "and yet it moves had a very simular concept.
just as a heads up I would be very interested in hearing game concepts you guys have. giving feedback on ideas is a great way to get yourself thinking about further ideas.
Even if it's similar to Yet it Moves we could always changes things up, a lot of games use previous ideas and tweaked them into something more refined.
I would love to have it be a Mario-style platformer, with a twist (like gravity or some kind of thing where previous areas are warped into new challenges) with a good story compelling you to explore more of the world/get through the next stage to see what's next.
[21:14] pixelman: I blame fheblackdragon
[21:15] pixelman: That's not an f by the way, it's a fancy t.
[21:15] Objection: Tales of Graces "fancy t"
[21:15] Objection: Tinal Tantasy
[21:15] theblackdragon: lol OB
[21:15] pixelman: OB knows what he's asking about.

I'd love to get in on this project as well if you'd like another programmer or just someone else to do testing. Though I'm not sure if I'd be much help as a programmer since I've never worked with Delphi before but I'm sure I could learn enough of it to help out.
ok, kaiser. How about the main character is part of a race of flying squirrels (with actual wings) who are humanoid-shaped?
I like this idea. Maybe we could use that to have some shmup levels (but not like bullet hell or anything, I was thinking like Rocket Knight Adventures) to mix things up a little between the platforming.
Btw I just wanted to add, I kinda like the idea (the Squirrel would be bipedal I assume) that if you run at top speed it will run on all fours and allow you to climb walls (like DKCR with the grass clinging).
I think thats pretty good as well, though maybe only to certain surfaces to keep the levels from being too easy. Maybe also allow a form of gliding since they would have wings. Flying could be a time limited powerup if we go that far, to add some small flying portions or puzzles to levels.
