Topic: Anyone up to making a game?

Well maybe if approved I can do some character art or so, like for the title screen/site. Nothing for the ingame itself though I'm horrible at spriting. We shall see since I will have to program too. xD (And we have artists already)

I will say this, we have a lot of people doing art, but that doesn't mean you guys can't do anything. Art is self expression and I want to see everyone's through this game. A part of all of us will be in this.

What is the process you guys use for drawing stuff like that?

Well personally I draw in Adobe Flash. An odd choice compared to what most use. It recognises my Wacom and happens to be a vector based program so it is double win for me. Been using it since flash 5 (can't remember year).

What do you mean? I use a tablet, and manga studio, I do the sprites on paint.

@Yai: Thats cool. Maybe i can do that too since I dont have Illustrator on THAT computer. I've also got a wacom _{haven't used it in a while} , but if i found the plug or whatever i needed I could scan artwork.

@Kaiser: How would you go about doing the pixels in paint?

@Longtime zoom in as much as you can, get the pencil and draw them square by square. Pixel by pixel, that's how I do it at least.

This is silly but, after I am done. I PRNTSCRN (while zoomed in) and I go back to 100% and paste it there so the image is bigger.

Here is an example.
On the left is the image drawn zoom in as much as possible. Then zoomed back out. The one on the right was copied by PRNT SCRN and pasted back in 100%.

Hey! I've been following this thread and I'm really liking the sound of this project
I know absolutely nothing about programming, but if you guys need any help with character design or writing I'd be happy to chip in.
Also, Kaiser, you've improved so much as an artist recently! I remember you made a thread awhile back asking people to critique your drawings and even though it wasn't that long ago I can definitely see your progress. All the drawings you've posted here have been fantastic

Hey guys I only Just got back from school and catching up on the what I missed.
Personally I think it would be cool if we made up our own species of charecter (I'n the same way ratchet and clank does) I'm liking the style of all the art so far. I think some kind of human-ish charector simmular to mega man or Jak from jak and daxter; that said you guys have made alot of progress since so I understand if you wanna press on with the squirrle charecter anyway.

Hey guys just thought I'd add that I'm useing google schetch up for my graphics course so I might be able to do some 3d sprite work with a little practise I'm talking starfox/yoshi's island levle of 3d though nothing drastic.

Uh, it's a 2D platformer, no? 3D collision/platforming is about the most horrible thing to code in the world.
