Topic: Anybody remember 1998?

i love 1998 more than any other year. I was 12 years old. I remember that the summer was really long (well at least the weather stayed warm well into October).

I was finally old enough to really buy things for myself. I got a Playstation for my birthday (january) and I played almost any
game that got released in the year. My parents finally allowed me to take subscription on the Power Unlimited (Dutch game magazine) so I could stay up to date.

And best of all, I remember my dad using his connections at the big IT company he was working to get me Mortal Kombat 4 (PC version) early... only to find out that it didn't run on my crappy PC luckily dad just got a new business laptop and he allowed me to play on it!

Best games that year; Mortal Kombat 4, Metal Gear Solid, Skull Monkeys, Crash Bandicoot 2 and Kulaworld

ow btw; does anybody remember the fact there was no acces for most common people to the internet ? I remember searching gaming magazines for Mortal Kombat 4 move lists and secret codes!

And yes a messaging system would be very nice. GoNintendo has a pretty good community, and they have a messaging system. Why can't NL have one too?

I can answer that for you, a private PM system wouldn't be subject to administrative review like the boards are, and thus if one member started harassing another, it would be harder to prove/stop (or something along those lines), that being said, if you don't like conversing publicly on the boards, you could use gonintendo's messaging system, or go to this place to converse with a little more privacy

I wasn't born so i don't know much being born in 2008 and all.

It's called blocking. And reporting.

Or you could just wait until the site revamp, when they will implement a PM system :3

yes, there is blocking, which this site also lacks, and I am simply stating the reasons I remember being told when I first asked why we couldn't PM, just repeating already heard information, and yes, there will supposedly be PMing with the site revamp, I was simply giving them options to go with until then, and yes, Avi, BL works too

Well, I was in middle school at the time. I skipped the 32/64 bit generation of video games, so I was more concerned with watching Mark McGwire break the single season home run record while playing for my St. Louis Cardinals. Unfortunately, he did it with steroids (as did Barry Bonds when he broke McGwire's record 3 years later), and it didn't get us into playoffs that year (although I'll take our two World Series titles in the last 6 years), but at the time it was baseball heaven (well, until the World Series 2 months ago).

yeah that was totally not an insult and i"m glad you know what all 3 year olds are capable of, but i'm an advanced 3 and a half year old, and i know who i am and don't care whether others believe me or not.
