I just fairly recently got into NERF products, but I have to say, I'm having a ton of fun. There's a small group of my friends at my college who are starting to get into them, and we're planning on some Halo Slayer-style wars using some of the dorms on campus as "maps" when school starts back up again. I've got a modded Recon CS-6, a modded Magstrike AS-10, and a Barrel Break IX-2 I'm planning on modifying, as well. I not long ago got the Stonewall shield and short sword set, and use the shield primarily with the Barrel Break (since it takes a little longer to reload, only takes one hand, and the shield buys me a couple extra seconds), and I'm planning on taking the short sword and modifying it into a bayonet that will fit on the tactical rail of my Recon. When it comes to actual melee, I have the Thor hammer, Mjolnir, that NERF created as a licensed product for the movie. It works for up close, but is really useful for throwing.
Anyone else actually still enjoy shooting your friends with foam from across the hall? If so, what guns/melee weapons do you use? Do you mod yours? What games do you play (i.e. simple deathmatches, V.I.P., Humans vs. Zombies, etc.)? Some of you might be surprised how big of a community there is out there for this stuff... if you've not done it, but like the sound you should look into it. It's really a lot of fun.
lol, my younger bro has a frickin' arsenal. Shootin' the crap out of each other all over the house = win.
My brother is exactly the same! He literally has 25+ NERF guns, however I find them more annoying than fun...

I never even thought of that before... but I don't think they would fit. I have a N Strike Longshot. and one of them... I forgot what you call em. Looks like a revolver.
i have every N-strike weapon there is, (except the SWS the hatchet and the VSS) and three guns (all of which were bought used), one is almost useless because it keeps jamming, one feels underpowered and the last one has a 15% chance of misfiring.
All the children try to run, To him its part of the fun. His branching arms are for collecting, His face is empty of expressing. He sometimes hums a lowly drone, He will wander 'round your home. Dressed in darkest suit and tie, He won't let you say goodbye.
I have a bunch, but my main two are a Raider CS-35 and a Recon CS-6. My faimily has had the awesomest Christmas ever. Everybody woke up, went to their stocking and there was a NERF gun in each one. Epic NERF war.
@Tasuki: it wouldn't work, anyway. The hot glue ads a little bit of weight, and a lot of people use BBs encased in glue when they make custom NERF darts (usually called Stefans), but a nail long enough to actually pierce the skin would be too heavy to fire with enough force to actually do any real damage.
@Magi: I had a bunch of friends growing up who would always go to those big Laser Tag arena/ arcade places for their birthday parties... maybe I just never got something, but I could never get it to work. It drove me nuts. I'd watch my laser hit their little light-up spots to no avail. It just works better for me to actually feel being hit... it doesn't have the same margin of error any electronic does.
@thesignpainter: I think you could open up those blasters you have, and there will be some guides online that could help you fix those jamming/misfiring problems.
@pix: Haha, that's awesome. Between my friends and myself we have a ton. We all have different ones, and we own every NERF gun currently produced except for the ones that require batteries to fire (who wants to deal with buying batteries all the time and the mechanical whine that makes sneaking impossible?), and the huge missile launchers. Just off the top of my head, I'm counting 12 NERF guns, with a couple of BuzzBee ones tossed in for kicks.

The Maverick. We had a couple of those, but they broke.
@bro: Haha yeah, he has the fully automatic one. That thing can be really fun if you're guarding something. >:3
My personal favorite is the incredibly impractical shotgun. xD
i have a small hand nerf gun.. its fun playing with little kids but i prefer air soft or paintball

@pix: The NERF one (the Barrel Break) or the off-brand? I love my NERF double barrel shotgun. It's practicality is by far the worst I have, but it's so much fun to use.
@Zephren: I like airsoft and paintball, too, but the problem being paintball is a mess and therefore can't be played indoors, and airsoft... well, I've just had too many people I know tell stories of their friends going blind from taking BBs to the eyes. it makes me uneasy. That and when you've got a ton of BBs going (which are also a pain in the butt to try to clean up afterward, because they're tiny and get EVERYWHERE), it can be hard to tell who's being hit by whom. With NERF darts, you know. It also inspires more up-close firefights, which add to the intensity for me, as opposed to shooting at someone who's 50+ yards off.
