Not really into horror anime, same can be said about extreme violence...fanservice anime it just depends, really...as long as I'm laughing or something. -w-

@Joeynator3000 Slice of life moe show. It's decent if you like that kind of thing, but it has none of Azumanga's fantastic surrealism or great comedic pacing. Also, too much creepy fanservice, considering the girls all look very, very young.
They don't just look youg - they're all in Elementary school. And I'm almost 100% positive the mangaka now exclusively does illustrations for less savory magazines...

Haha, that explains so much.
At least it's not as bad as Kodomo no Jikan...
For those not in the know, don't google that unless you want to end up on some sort of government watchlist.
Yeah, it was funnier than I expected, and now I got a better sense of the story & flow, so I'm that much more curious about Case Closed/Detective Conan as a whole.
well that's cool. I've been in a DC recommendation mood again, partially because the anime filler has been shockingly good lately.
It's a great murder mystery series, but while the plot and characters are great (to the point of having both my favorite fictional character and favorite anime story arc), it is a murder mystery series FIRST is the thing. And a fantastic one at that, but that's what it is for most of it.
So I happily recommend it as it is my favorite series but only with some things kept in mind. But tbh, what is frequently considered the best murder mystery of the whole series happens in episode 11, so I don't think it's a big deal either way. If you don't like it by then, you can just stop.

Haikyuu!! is back! Go! Strive! Hit the ball! Do the volley!
I think I watched a bit of K-On a while ago but could never get into it. I think "fantastic surrealism or great comedic pacing" describes it perfectly. It sort of ends up with with weird charm just by being itself. A lot of other stuff goes after charm waving a stick, trying to pin it down.
I watched something by the same... studio?... as K-On a while ago called Tamako's Market (I think). Nothing really happened it in, but it looked pretty, and I thought it was less cloying than K-On.
Anyway, back to the volleyball. Volley! Ball! Volley! Ball!
So yeah, still slowly watching Gundam & Lupin - not too much to say atm lol, I'm not much further in either. College is busy haha. But here's a pretty great recent video from Digibro -
As an aside, I think it's pretty sad how often older anime get overlooked by modern fans. People seem to have problems even watching stuff from the 90s, let alone even older than that. It's just a shame, especially when there's so much interesting and pretty different stuff from different eras. Like the 70s, with the Dezaki shows, the World Masterpiece Theater series, the Space Operas, and the Go Nagai adaptations. There's just a lot there that gets criminally overlooked imo. That's not to say I dislike modern anime, far from it. I really don't think any particular era of anime is better than the other, they all have their greats. It just makes me feel kinda disappointed whenever I realize how few anime fans of my generation & beyond care, or let alone know about some of the old classics.
To balance out the last video & my complaints, here's a much more positive video -
Hmm, there seems to be an onslaught of really interesting shows this season! There are about 12 I'm at least kinda interested in ,and quite a few of those sound like must-sees! And the amount I'll probably ever watch...
