IDOLMASTER CINDERELLA GIRLSSSSSSSS.
As some of you might know the Idolmaster series is my jam. I wasn't sure if I'd like this spin off series or not because I never followed the side projects (as they're apps that you can only get in japan and such) but I decided to give this anime a shot.
The first episode was suuuuper cute and very beautiful (this animation style is my favorite)
I'm very excited for more.

What is the most underrated anime? Does Space Dandy count (that is my pick)?
No.
My vote still goes to Kaiba. One of the very few anime that consistantly moved me and made me think, yet I almost never hear of anyone actually watching it. I'll admit it can be very difficult to understand, but I never felt it was pretentious like some other shows. The more I rewatch scenes, the more I understand, and the more emotionally it impacts. It's remarkably well-crafted. There are some very absurd scenes, as well as some scenes that are so gross I'm tempted to say they're unnecessary, and I don't understand all of it yet, but I watched it back in 2009 and 6 years later I am still thinking about it scene by scene. It's definitely something more people should give a shot.
Kaiba is definitely a unique experience I'll give it that. I really need to rewatch it to try and get what was going on fully. It got really weird at parts, just very weird, but I had to keep watching it. I finished it in two days. I think that's why I couldn't get a handle on most of the events. I'd say more people should watch it.
Never heard of Kaiba. Will have to check it out. Don't know about other parts of the web though, but it seems to be quite well-regarded on MAL. Its user rating is in the top 3% of all anime.
I'm not sure what I would call the most underrated anime. I've enjoyed plenty of "bad" anime, but I'm aware that they were bad and were guilty pleasures. Looking over my own user ratings, I've never rated anything significantly higher than the average user. Guess that makes me an average person.
I have, on the other hand, rated several significantly lower than average. The major one that comes to mind is Code Geass. Canis tried to explain to me one time how it's possible to extract entertainment from that show, but the explanation was lost on me. I just don't get it. That show irritated the hell out of me. Sorry.
Honestly, Code Geass irritated me when I first watched it, too. If you can't get into the cult of personality that is Zero, nor do you look forward to "epic" yet nonsensicle battles and "just as planned" moments, you're probably not gonna like it. Then again, I'm one of those people where passion can trump quality so long as there's a lot of it, and I felt Code Geass had oodles of passion.
Also, all 3 shows I was interested in this season are on Funimation instead of CR. A surprising twist! Good thing they've apparently improved their site.
Log Horizon S2 introduced a new character that heavily references Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja series today. He comes from America, wears a green "frog" suit, wields dual blades, and has a love for pizza. XD
Dragon Ball Z Kai - Goku's situation just got a bit more heavy His training is some serious monkey business.
Naruto Shippuden - The fight scene tonight was pretty cool, though short. Anyhow, they captured the guy with the glasses, and are now looking for Sasuke.
InuYasha: The Final Act - InuYasha just trained to master the Tessaiga's new ability (TBH, I was never a big fan of this ability. It just seems so, abstract. I'm not sure if that's the best word for it, but whatever).
One Piece - A recap of Water 7, and what we've been through so far of Enies Lobby.
Gurren Lagann - Whoa, everyone's all grown up! S
Everything is all peaceful, we're catching up with everyone, when suddenly new enemy appears!
Also, they reviewed Assassin's Creed Rouge tonight, 8.5/10.

I have this honest, this has been a really bad time for me with Toonami. Gurren Lagann hasn't lived up to my (admittedly high) expectations, One Piece on recap, Naruto still on terribleawfulworst pacing and Inuyasha isn't awful but is still Inuyasha.
I could watch Deadman Wonderland again, but like half of the reason I got into it was because of how shocking the first episode felt. Which might not work on repeat and tbh I haven't rewatched better shows that I finished way before this.
Yeah, Deadman Wonderland was definitely a show that piled everything on the first episode. It got less interesting as it went, which is kinda... backwards, I guess.
Reminds me of a comment that Masahiro Ando, director of Canaan, made:
It's challenging to let people just watch a series. Nowadays, young people are surrounded by abundant amusements. They can spare time only for a couple of series. That's why most of the series are dropped only by the impression of episode 1. It was surprising to know that the audience want a clear presentation of 'What this anime is about' in the first episode.
It's this reason that so many anime, Canaan and Deadman Wonderland included, completely blow their load in the first episode. It's a sad thing that directors are convinced that they only have 22 minutes to convince everyone to watch their show and put everything into that 22 minutes. It's important to leave a hook in the first episode so that people want to watch more, but that doesn't mean you have to pile all the shock/impact/action in the first episode.
I disagree, because it's obvious the series would've been the same (except worse) if the first episode wasn't like that. First impressions are important but my main problem with Deadman Wonderland is that way too much happened in the last 3-4 episodes. Kinda killed any interest in seeing it continue as even the Walking Dead would question why so many characters have to die.
I'm really feeling like trying something from the 90's (or even late 80's), or rewatching if I've seen it before. Any suggestions? Something Sci-Fi and/or fantasy would be great.
I'm watching Samurai Flamenco and its as much of a love letter to Sentai as the Wonderful 101 was if not more. It reminds of berserk in that it starts off relativity mundane and than the crap hits the fan. I also like how they have multiple story arcs that all play homage to a different type of Sentai series from the lone hero of Kamen Rider to the team format of Super Sentai.
Speaking of which I think i'll rewatch Beserk sometime soon.
WAT!

I saw the first episode of The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls today. It started out pretty slow, but it became progressively more entertaining as it went on. I wasn't expecting much from CG since I didn't like The iDOLM@STER that much; I could never get past the third episode on that one.
I watched the first episode of Ai Tenchi Muyo! earlier today.
Well, it's a new Tenchi series that actually has Tenchi in it (as the main character), which is nice for once. His appearance is slightly updated, but he's still definitely Tenchi, same personality & all.
As for other info. It still takes place isolated in the mountains, but rather than his family shrine, he looks to be attending some sort of (all girl, other than himself) school that's located there.
The good news is that the teacher could very well be Washu (though her name hasn't yet been given), meaning other classic characters may show up eventually.
Kind of a mixed impression so far, but I'll probably continue watching for now (especially considering the short run time).
