No. Ed's too nice. It wouldn't fit his personality at all.
I think it should have happened though. The entire world was at stake, and it considering his role it should have happened, it might have shaken him, but that would be good character development. It's one of the few things I liked more about the original FMA.
Huh, what does this have to do with it? Is it a lack of realism? I'm not sure what you're getting at.
Its intended audience is teenage boys, so you generally don't get a lot of shounen protags who actually kill humans.
Yeah, but it was a more mature shounen series, that had plenty of good guys who killed people. It's not really the type of anime that would strike me as one where the protagonist killing a human would make them unhappy. Plus the original FMA, which seems more like a series your talking about, had him kill people. It seems more like a bad plot decision that anything else to me.

And they did it because they missed the point of his character, which was that he has learned through lose and pain the incredible importance of life. It would've gone against his character development to have him do that...

But it realistically doesn't make sense, and honesty, it's could've easily been a naiveness he had to get rid of, or overcome the one thing he's not willing to sacrifice, because it isn't really a virtue. There are multiple ways to approach it. I'm also not saying he shouldn't abhor doing it, I'm just saying it should have been something necessary.
Uehara seems to be gathering another reinforcement group to send up after Ichigo's group, and the first to show up are the Vizoreds, as well as Yoruichi's younger sibling! (yeah, this was a completely random introduction, lol)
Meanwhile, up in the Spirit Palace, sword & giant brush clash as Ywach continues his fight with the Buddhist monk looking guy of the Zero Division. The "monk" guy eventually got the upper hand with a hit that supposedly halved all of Ywach's abilities! However, Ywach doesn't seemed too concerned, and in fact, got back up with a smirk...

But it never was necessary. Not in Brotherhood. He found ways around it when he could, and when he probably couldn't, the other characters were there to do the dirty deed instead. Humans were almost never the true enemy, and that's a big part of FMA:B.
Not quite sure how this thread works, but I am reading the Watamote manga? It's fantastic! I can so relate to the main character... (Much to my ever lasting shame )
Dragon Ball Z Kai - Some good old DBZ action with the big Raditz fight.
Naruto Shippuden - Most of the episode was spent with the main characters musing over the mystery of Sai's book, while a certain someone appeared at the end.
One Piece - We got flashbacks to highlight how Zoro & Usopp joined the crew tonight, which was fun.
Gurren Lagann - The big fight for humanity's fate has begun! With a heavy dose of GL style over the top action, naturally.
InuYasha: the Final Act - Everything was still pretty condensed tonight, but it was kept pretty coherent this time, and you probably wouldn't notice it if you haven't read the manga. Also, the next big casualty has occured.
Also, a new motivational speech from T.O.M.

I've started watching Free! and I'm actually enjoying it more than I thought I would... At first I thought it would be boring and not have much depth, but most of the characters are lovable and the story is fun yet simple. On episode 8 now, Makoto and Rei my favorites. Meanwhile, Haruka is probably one of the most boring main characters I've seen in a while.
I'm also slowly getting through the Persona 4 Golden Animation.... Watching too much of that at once makes me want to throw up. They should have just left it at the first Persona 4 Anime.

You mean Eternal Summer? I still haven't had the chance to watch the second season.
I started watching Trinity Seven this weekend, and I was quickly met with disappointment. The story had potential, but the terrible harem logic that followed was just too much.
