@RR529 - If you need any recommendations on other martial arts manga, I hear Holyland and Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru are both worth checking out.
Yeah, one of the websites I was at recommended both of those to me, so I'll probably try them out at some point, but I think I'm going to look for something a bit different currently.
Thanks for the heads up.

@SuperMalleo: Hey, why did you delete your post? And here I thought I meet another ZKC fan. I've seen it (they did ever made a response to it? I think James did), as well the part where Minamoto and Sakak were playing The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures in ep. 3, IIRC.
@RR529 I've read a bit of Holyland so far, the characterisation is amazing but the fighting is done in a heavy realism style. So there's no flashy combat, it's more like real life street fighting but with really detailed author's notes about what each move does and how it works. I'm liking it more for the story than the fighting.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
I'm still surprised that the ending of One Piece is still taking long time to do......Seriously though, Like why do Manga's take so long? Why can't they do it like the West does?
I want to know one thing though. Like why is the artstyle in Manga too similar and not much of variety in them. I mean Dragon Ball can be similar to One Piece and One Piece can be similar to Fairy Tail.......like why not a different artstyle.

Yes, because every manga takes decades to end, unlike comic books likes Super Man, Iron Man, Spider Man, Bat Man, and Captain America.
And yes, every manga looks the same and uses the same artstyle. Because this looks totally like this, which also looks like this, which is totally indestinguishable from this.
Unlike comic books, which always look completely different. I mean this looks nothing like this, or this. And especially not this.
btw, here are two better examples of Soul Eater's art (spoilers, I guess). I probably shouldn't have used AMG as an example, so here's K-On instead.
This still isn't really worth much effort, though. I'm sure there are a bajillion better examples, too. I know comic art can be diverse, too, but I feel its more rigid. I actually took a comic art class but dropped it because it felt less like building your own style and instead it was more about learning how to copy the popular DC/Marvel style, because a comic artist is only important to the industry as a tool for other artists rather than actually being able to express their own creativity.
Don't get me wrong, it's the same for manga, too, but judging from what I've seen, there's a bit more flexibility. As far as I know, for comics it seems artists and writers are more meant to replaceable, you have no ownership, etc. for manga, the writer is a vital peice of the puzzle and quite often they get to do their own art, at least at first, while still being published for the mainstream. There are still plenty of hoops and guidelines to follow, but I like that manga seems to force variety, often showcasing new talent. From what I've seen with comics, it seems to rather difficult to find new series, and a lot of them are either independant or published by a third-rate publisher who can barely pay the bills. (Dark Horse might be the only exception, if I'm getting the name right EDIT: nope, meant Image Comics apparently) It's kinda sad when I can name the number of comics not based on something else with a non-realistic/romantic art style that isn't independant on one hand...
Oh yeah, I also read the newest chapter of Bleach today.
Stern Ritter L ("Love"), after being defeated by Kurosuchi, was eaten by Stern Ritter G ("Glutton").
Meanwhile at the Palace of the Soul King, the members of the Zero Division are baffled by the fact that their attacks are missing Juha Bach (he's not dodging or creating illusions, they just somehow miss him). As it turns out, this is due to the presence of Stern Ritter W ("Wind"). I guess we'll get the specifics of his ability next week?
Back in Seiretei, Uehara uses a canon (designed much like the one used during the Soul Society arc) to blast Ichigo's group up to the Palace of the Soul King to confront Juha Bach once & for all.

.../rant
I like rants with content. Well said.
Btw KKslider, I remember you having this list with episodes of Conan with only the "worthwhile" fillers included? Maybe you could share it with me?
There have been a year's worth of stuff past this, but the current sub team has had terrible luck this year so they couldn't get a ton done so I haven't been watching much lately so I'm not interested in looking that up right now.
Well, over the past few days I read through The!! Beach Stars.
It's a "sequel" to Beach Stars (a manga I read well over a year ago), that is really just a direct continuation of the story started in the first one. I'm not really sure why they felt the rebranding was necessary, especially since it only has 12 chapters (compared to the first' 60 something). Whatever the case, I had been putting it off for long enough, so I decided to get to it.
There's no reason to read it unless you've read the first one first (again, direct continuation), and it chronicles the story of a school's beach volleyball team as they try to fight their way up to the national tournament. Just bear in mind that due to the theme, there are occasionally fanservicy moments.
Well, since some of you recommended it, I'll probably look into Holyland next.

Today's episode of Aldnoah.Zero was insane. That epic mecha fight at the end reminded me a lot of the fights that occurred at the end of the two seasons of Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
When is Hulu going to upload the latest episode of SAO: II? It's still not available yet and I'm quite sure that it aired at least 6 - 8 hours ago in Japan.

I just read the first chapter of the From the New World manga. I vehemently despise it and wish that it didn't exist. And the worst part is that I already had a feeling that it wasn't going to be as good as I hoped it would be just based on the cover of the first book. I am phenomenally angry right now and I completely regret picking up that first book.

I haven't read that specific manga, but the cover reminds me of a personal gripe: when the main character is male, but it's always his female entourage that gets featured on the front cover.
So the upcoming episode of Space Dandy will be the final one. Bummer...
However it looks pretty exciting! Looks we'll finally get a true ending and find out why exactly the Gogol Empire has been chasing Dandy. Looking forward to this! Hope the show goes out with a big bang.
