@AlternateButtons I agree with @KirbyTheVampire that the 4 first party games shown by Sony certainly were not filler games. They may be winding down development on PS4, but it's certainly not Nintendo 2015 material - that was totally garbage. However, I also don't expect Nintendo to wow us this year. Smash Bros, Yoshi and Fire Emblem is what I expect with a bit of third party support pretty much sums my expectations.

I liked it. It was more than I expected. Spider-Man looked better than I expected too, so I didn't mind another trailer. Plus we got some more games like Control, RE2, and Nioh 2. Wasn't a big fan of the intermission though. I've got a feeling that took longer than expected so they had to drag it out.
@Dezzy Yeah, they confirmed that last year. Ghost of Tsushima is open world.
@Octane@AlternateButtons I heard that the reason for the intermission was due to having multiple rooms setup for journalists to move between for each of the 4 games but realising how much of a screw up it was becoming decided to only do it once? I didn't see the conference as 2 am is way too late for me, but this sounds like Sony getting cocky.

@KirbyTheVampire It's filler because we already knew about most of these games. Barely anything new was shown. And it. Just. Draaaaaaagged. Microsoft has 50 games shown at their conference in quick succession. Sony had 8 games thinly spread out over 90 minutes. It wasn't a good showing. Where was Final Fantasy 7 remake? Shenmue 3? None of that was there. The Last of Us 2 looked boring, Death Stranding was confusing, I could care less about RE2 remake because it's a game I've played before, and Ghost of Tshushima was dull. That's half the lineup right there.
Spiderman looked really cool but that was the only thing that really thrilled me. There just wasn't anything big this year imo. It wasn't awful, but I went in expecting them to knock it out of the park and they dropped the ball hard.
Do they really need to reveal much more when the lineup from now to well into next year is already good, though? And even though Microsoft showed way more games, the majority of those games will still be coming to the PS4. When you keep that in mind and also look at what was shown tonight, Sony's got a strong lineup of stuff. Maybe it could be better, but it certainly isn't weak. And besides, telling us about a bunch of games that are years away just for the sake of "winning E3" is a mistake. I'm not a fan of hearing about a game and then having to wait 5 years to play it. I would rather hear about it and then be able to play it within 1 year or so.
And you might not care for those games (I also agree that they need to hurry up and show us what Death Stranding actually is) but other people will go out in droves to buy them. When you're judging the conference objectively, you have to keep in mind the overall impact the games have, not just whether or not you personally like them. I'm personally super pumped for games like The Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima, and so are millions of other people.
The only part that truly sucked was the first part where they were moving people between rooms and whatnot. That was a terrible idea on Sony's part. It shouldn't have taken the conference half an hour to get interesting.
After watching Sony's conference, I couldn't help but think it was a bit one dimensional. They keep making over the shoulder 3rd person games in semi open world situations with lots slow leaning over creeping topped off with a bunch of QTE's. Plus they leant heavily on violence and horror. Only Spidey varied the formula with a bit of jumping an less gore, but there wasn't something that broke the mold.
Plus you get the feeling most of these games are over a year away.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

well finally you people seem to realize this. for years now sony has no interesting games IMO. the few that are interesting are mostly also on pc anyway
I watched Ubi's and Sony's conferences out of curiosity and both bored me to death. Feels like I watched three hours of oscar nominations for best drama. The only thing that looked remotely like a videogame was Spiderman, which I'm sure it's going to be the game they are putting the least amount of effort in.
Also found the talk in between game footage to be kinda ridiculous, as if they wanted to make all these games sound epic and unique but everything looks so generic. It's like old Atari games where every cartridge came with a sci-fi novel of introduction and then the game was just a flashing dot chasing other flashing dots.
When that girl from UBI said "In just a few days freedom will be yours! Freedom to put your hands on your dream car, bike, boat or plane"...that really made me laugh! Kinda wish somebody had the balls to go on stage and say "Look, this is exactly the same game you've been playing for years, we only changed the story slightly and hired a couple of unemployed Hollywood celebrities to inflate production costs, but it's pretty good you should give it a try".
We're very far from what I think "videogames" should be...
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...
Does anyone have a direct link to the Nintendo showing of tonight? I'm at a Pearl Jam concert at the time it aires, so I don't think my 4G reception will be sufficient I want to watch the show later tonight or perhaps tomorrow morning, but I don't want to see any spoilers before that.
I thought they had some good stuff. I agree- definitely an overload of super cinematic, leaning forward crouch walking type games. But to be honest that's with the audience on that system wants. You can't blame them for sticking to what they know their audience likes.
Spider-Man and Last of Us still look good. Those will be day one. Death Stranding... hmm. I'm still not sure what I think about that game but, I trust Kojima knows how to make good gameplay. That Remedy game looked pretty cool. Reminds me of Quantum Break (which I don't care what anyone says, that was a good game- end boss was lame, but that aside, very good stuff).
My brother though, oh my gosh he was happy about Nioh 2. He loves his dark soulsy type of games. I immediately texted him and I'm like, there you go dude, you've got enough new dark souls style games announced this E3 to last you the rest of your life. You never have to play another type of game again 😂
I imagine Nintendo's showing will be pretty similar to Sony's, with a focus on the short term. Keighley and those guys were actually talking about that, how more and more E3 seems to be focusing on the short term (aside from MS, but they really needed to come hard this year and they most definitely did).
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
I completely don't mind this format of focusing on stuff this year with a few surprises for beyond the calendar year. I hope Nintendo follows a similar path tomorrow despite their wording focusing on 2018. Won't get my hopes up though lol
Well, even focusing on 2018, we haven't seen a single frame of the new Fire Emblem, or Smash Bros, and Pokémon and Yoshi only got quick trailers (well, Pokémon got a decent trailer, but only a small portion was actual gameplay). They'll have booths for Mario Tennis Aces and Captain Toad, but won't focus time for the presentation aside from quick gameplay reels. Should also be something about No More Heroes in there.
I'm just hoping for Pikmin 4 and a Xenoblade X port (yes I really, really want that game on Switch- probably too soon for that, but you never know, could be a Treehouse announcement or something).
Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3, next main Pokémon and Shin Megami Tensei V will all likely be MIA. Can't borrow too much on future announcements, even if we haven't seen gameplay for any of them. Because that will make up the bulk of next year's focus.

While i would not go that far, i can definitely relate somewhat to this opinion. Sometimes i am wondering if i am becoming too old for todays mainstream videogames business ... i mean there is sooooo much cinematic stuff going on, hyping the setting or the premise of the game and then so little gameplay is shown.
Fallout 76 - you can have singleplayer missions, but it's still online only - so when my internet provider f... up, i can not play the game?!?
Ghost of Tsushima - i really wanted to like that game because in general i love the setting and of course it looks good ... but the combat and stealth just seems generic as heck.
But yeah, Sony's conference still showed somewhat strong games overall and most of their fanbase will be happy. But personally, i can only hope that Nintendo's conference later today will wow me because tbh, i am pretty underwhelmed by this E3.
@toiletduck You telling me that Pearl Jam aren't live streaming the Nintendo E3 Presentation as part of their concert? I am shocked and disappointed. I think the second of the 2 links is the correct one for the presentation.
