Topic: 4th of July . whats everyone doing?

going to the parade, check out the carnival rides or carnival games? family get together to eat brats, burgers, chips etc for lunch? shoot off fireworks?

first of all f I was gonna do anything exciting it was gonna be this month heh heh

but 2nd of all, not really. Used to at least go to fireworks at one place or another but I've not gone in years and I've not gone to any sort of fun place besides doing just that since the vacations me and my brother used to have with my dad until he became too busy owning a restaurant in 2015 onwards.

I've got tixs for KISS with Skindred supporting that night. Tbh I'm not even a KISS fan however with them now playing their third last ever show in the UK they are struggling to sell tixs as people have had enough so I've picked up cheapo tixs and going for the lols.

Watch the Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest in the morning, followed by setting off a few fireworks in the evening probably.

Our "main" event is usually going to a cookout on a relative's farm on a nearby Saturday. Haven't heard anything about this yet, but sometimes they don't get in contact until the week of.

What is 4th of July anyway? I just Googled it and I suppose, that it's a Birthday of Queen Sonja in Norway or Republic Day in Philippines, right?

@AnVold In the United States it's independence day. It's the day the Declaration of Independence was ratified. In other words, it's America's birthday

Eating good food and spending time with loved ones!

I won't be celebrating it myself as I'm not American, but I'll most likely be spending it getting ready for an upcoming wedding that I'll be attending a few days later!

Canada folk celebrate July 1st for Canada Day. I get to see a firework show from my backyard, because the fireworks get so bright and high you could see them for ages. As for what I’m going to do? Nothing. Fight Ganondorf I guess.

But in all seriousness, going to a friend's house for a party July 1st. This will be the highlight of the weekend. Then my other buddy is having a gender reveal party july 2nd. Don't really want to partake, but kinda feel obligated to go. Then watching some fireworks the next day and taking it easy.

From what I understand it’s abit like May The 4th is Star Wars day or Mar 10 is Mario day. Americans celebrate their favourite movie Independence Day which takes place on 4th July by setting off loads of fireworks pretending they’re are gonna hit space monsters in the sky in honour of Will Smith.

Personally I though it was a rubbish movie but hey-ho.

I’ll be returning from a trip that day so I will likely sleep and then hope I can see fireworks from my apartment. I don’t do public places on the 4th because some idiot has to have a gun.
