The way you try to consolidate absolutely everything that could have anything to do with something into a singular thread with absolutely no focus or direction... this is why I can't use your forums. This is probably why you only got a handful of regular users.
A bit over the top, but I agree to a certain extent. It's a shame when a lively discussion, sometimes running to two or three pages, suddenly gets nipped in the bud because there is a similar thread elsewhere. I understand the principle behind it, but sometimes it would be better to let the active thread run its course.
@JayJ I personally don't see the point in having a separate thread titled ''What do you think about [game]?'', when that question is already addressed in the main thread; it's there for people to share their thoughts about the game. That is the reason why I locked it.

FTFY.
Standard forum protocol.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
edit: to actually add to the thread with something other than just exposing someone's meaningless complaints because an entirely redundant thread was made, I do think there are more modern ways to organize things that might be necessary at points. Unfortunately, most people ignore the forums beyond the first page of a subforum, so I feel like a lot of discussions unfairly die for that reason alone. While there are ways implemented to find other discussions, if no one uses them, than its probably not working.
It might be harder now since typical forum discussions and how they work and how people are knowledgeable on how to use them are more in the past while the closest comparisons to forums that are popular now is Reddit, where depending on where you are, any meaningless discussion can be posted as a thread because they rely on upvotes and popularity as the default for first page discoverability rather than just defaulting to what was posted most recently. (so useless threads in theory just naturally disappear instead of needing to be locked) Which is ok in the other subforums here but I'm not sure is ideal for the Switch one.
