@antdickens Forum search scenario excludes results: bug or as designed?
If you're in a thread and decide you want to search the forum, that thread's subject filters are automatically applied without you selecting them, which prevents you from searching the whole forum. I think I've seen instances where duplicate topics were created because users searched before making a thread(ššš), but failed to find existing threads with their search, because of this unintended filtering.
Example: A user in a Wii U thread, can't find Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch) because Switch results were excluded from their search. Open this thread, then search "Mario Kart, and you'll never find Mario Kart 8 Deluxe(Switch), because all other consoles are filtered out: https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/wii-u/mario_kart_81?start...
@WoomyNNYes do you mean because the āspecific forumā is pre selected?
Personally I think itās fairly common behaviour to search within the specific forum by default, rather than all forums. The user can choose which forums they want to search when using this tool.
@antdickens Yes, if you are in a thread, then hit the search button, the forum search filters will be pre selected (determined by the thread you were just in). I mainly wanted to make sure it wasn't a bug. I think you answered the question. Thanks.
(My knowledge with how average forums work is low.š)
Is it possible to put spoiler tags over images? I haven't seen anyone do this before but if it is possible could someone let me know how to do it for future reference? š
I'm sorry if this is too off topic y'all, but can someone explain why there was a TON of comments removed or deleted on the recent switch sports article?
@NikHogan
It was my fault by starting the 1st comment with my complain about lack of Boxing and other sports in Switch Sports (my ideal should be at least 12 different sports in Switch Sports, just like Wii Sports Resort), then the article became so derailed because of my comment. š
So thereās not really a way to completely stop getting emails from NL. You can tell it to not email you if you get mentioned or quoted, but if you follow a thread, thereās no way to turn those emails off. Thatās something I find a bit annoyingā¦
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. Itās off to work (from home) I go.
@BabyYoda71 the watch thread feature was originally added so that it sent emails whenever there was a new post, are you saying youād want to watch a thread but not get updated when it changes?
