@antdickens
Also, the notification email I just got reminded me of something else.
The SVG emoji graphics you have in place for emoticon replacements don't show up in notification emails, which can totally change the interpretation of a message received.

@antdickens Is there a way to have an indication that we have already disliked a comment after revisiting an article?

It works with likes but not with dislikes.

I would be cool if the "Thumbs down" is colored if we have already disliked a comment.

Right now if I have disliked a comment and I press the button again (as it is NOT colored) it removes the dislike and have to be pressed again

Just a thing I wondered about that I don't really think warrants a thread on its own. If you go to your account, there is a star button titled codes next to the ignored/blocked users button. What is this codes button for?

@antdickens Thanks for the answer.
Just anotherthing, so you know, yesterday, I don't remember exactly when it started but atleast in the evening I was unable to log in to the site. It works now, so its fine, just thought you should know.

Do these forums have a pinned page for making suggestions of possible new NintendoLife articles? If they don't I suggest they add one (I couldn't find it). Even if article suggestions are (rightfully) mostly ignored, there might be some good ideas mixed in and having each suggestion on a different page is a bit chaotic and easy to lose.

Technical and overall organization suggestions for the site (this pinned age) and article suggestions seem like the main 2 'suggestion' categories.

Two discoverability suggestions for the main site:

1. Make it easier (possible?) to find the list of Tags. Maybe under topics? It's pretty hard to browse for older specific topics on the site and that would help.

2. Make it easier to find the best of articles. These could be a sub-topic to click on under guides or features. I think the 'best of' articles (currently tagged 'best Switch games') are some of the most useful to come back to months or years later. Right now they are hard to find unless you know where one of these articles is and then click on the tag from that page.

There's a Contact button in the red banner below for that purpose.

@WoomyNNYes I meant informal article suggestions by random people, not official business ones. These forumns have suggestions like that scattered about, but it might be fun to have them in one place.

@FishyS I wouldn't expect NL to watch the thread, if it was created. Too few NL users actually follow the community rules already - toxic, unconstructive, not serious. Some are just kids, "why do you act like _____ doesn't exist", "more stories about Peach!<333", etc.. NL may see article comments & the Contact button as enough. I'm not going to claim to speak for NL though. That's just my guess, because internet. Granted, this Ideas thread seems to do ok.

@FishyS yes, as the others have said it's best to email in content ideas as that'll go to the editorial team who sadly don't have time to monitor the forum

@lolwhatno it allows us to track problematic comments, and allow people to show their dislike without retaliating. The data does things behind the scenes but not public-facing.

@FishyS 1: tags for articles? Yeah we could probably do that, will make a note. We do have a lot of tags though might be hard to browse the list of random topics. 2: there is a page that houses all the 'best of' lists here: https://www.nintendolife.com/best-games (under the 'Games' option in the menu) if that is what you mean.

That link gives a small handful of the 'best of' articles, but not most of them. For example, it doesn't have the recent Best Switch Kart Racers or best Switch Music articles. This gets back to TAGs. At the top of that page it links to the 'best games' tag but not to the commonly used 'best switch games' tag. Maybe it doesn't need an extra link, I was just thinking those types of articles deserve to be extremely easy to find.

Ability to like someone's post in the forums.
It would be nice, because then I don't have to write a message to acknowledge that I have read a response etc.

I had an idea after reading the Splatoon 3 pre-order guide NLife put up: would the idea of adding prices/shops for EU residents be something you might consider? As someone who lives in Ireland, the pre-order guides don't do much for me since, at the moment, it's just dollars and pounds, two currencies that don't pretain to where I live. A section for where to pay for them in euro would be very much appreciated.
