I found it to be a decent read. The writer's point about all the strange quirks of the DS coming together for an experience like no other really rings true, imo.

It's why I'm here.

Five Years / Stuck on my eyes

More on point, and less on Bowie, this paragraph is particularly interesting:

The DSi, the Game Boy Color-styled upgrade just released this past April, is a strange machine. It is, unlike the Lite, improved in function as well as form. It has significantly more RAM than the original DS and a faster processor, not to mention a camera, adding on to the feature set that seemed so strange just five years ago. Games not possible on the original hardware can be made on the new one. The question now is: will we still be playing DSes in another five years? "Initial DSi sales indicate that consumers are very supportive of the newest iteration and the growth potential is huge," says Majesco Vice President Gui Karyo. "That said, technology continues to evolve, so I suspect that we'll see new system introductions within five years and that will shape the DS life cycle."

Thanks for the article Odnetnin. Great read. I have put so many many hours into my DSes its ridicilous. The best portable system ever in my opinion. Yes, I know I hate on the DSi so bad and with good cause because DSiWare Could be so much more BUT, the DS is revolutionary. Contact, Space Invaders Extreme(Import with controller on on DSi Phat/Lite), Mag Adventure SlideKid, Jump Ultimate Superstars, Ouendin, Retro Game Challange, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Swords, etc all take advantage of the hardware and run with it and make fantastic game out of the limited specs. The DS proves that graphics arent the only thing that makes game great, and the system keeps us old shcool gamers happy as well.

The DS is the best video game platform ever created.

@slapshot82 Glad to be of service. I would agree that the DS is the best portable of all time, though not necessarily the DSi. DSiWare is currently a 5.7 in my eyes, and I desperately hope it improves.

It will....as you always say give it time. Sadly its not Nintendo products but Wayforwards Shantae games and Rayman coming are a highlight and Reflections looks promising from the bits Ive seen. I just tire of all the fun for 10 minutes games that are hitting the service. Being a old school gamer its just wrong. Im glad Im a minority and some like that stuff. I come from old shcool days when we played games for a challange not mindless enjoyment. Its really hard to teach old dogs new tricks you know and its hard to teach old gamers that hard isn't fun anymore.
