@ejamer @Bluerobin2 part of it is also because, well, I've always wanted to have my own programming language. From you guys' POV, you can ask what LOLCode is for. Also with brainf ck. They're languages cause they can be.

If Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy & paste this into your signature and hope it happens.

Big thumbs up for that. Cool things don't need any additional justification to be made. Programming just because you can is fun and sometimes has unexpected benefits later.

I agree completely. There are so many languages out there that you'd think that people would run out of ideas for languages. (BTW I put SmileBASIC on there, and at request of some of you guys (I wasn't gonna do it, but you asked), SimpleC)

@IAmAPerson SimpleBasic qr codes and command list?

I have been working on adding touch screen controls for Hawthorne Effect, but I've run into a small problem when I started moving everything to the bottom screen. The problem is that I can't display the sprites from the normal sprite bank, so I've been using the SPS icons in place of the normal sprites I have been using (for the time being). I was wondering if anyone could generally explain how to use and create GRPs ? I'm assuming that the concept is analogous to map creation via arrays and BGPUT.

I wish I was on the Enterprise.

The QRs for SimpleC v1.2 and some example programs are on the QR Sharing Thread. I ran out if time on my computer, so I'll update the wiki, post changelog, and post new manual tomorrow.

May I announce the ANG Project!

If you know what GNU is to Unix you should be able to guess what ANG is to standard PTC projects.
If not, read on the wiki page: http://petitcomputer.wikia.com/wiki/ANG_Project
A list of packages avaliable will also be there.
Any developer is free to contribute.

REDACTION:
ANG Project canceled.
How do I delete the wiki page?

@VincentFaraday Well, there are a couple of ways you could do this, but you must remember the limitations.

First, you could load your sprites into the lower screen sprite banks with the command:

LOAD "SPS0:SPRITESHEET"

However, unlike the top screen, where you can load SPU0-7, on the lower screen you can only load SPS0 or 1, and you can't even use the whole second page (at least, I don't think). @Discostew probably knows the exact limits, but it's not a lot. If you can fit all of your sprites into a single page, this is all you have to do. However, let's say you have more than one sprite sheet, but you know you won't have more than a certain # of different sprites on the screen. For instance, maybe you have 90 enemies on the screen, but you're only using 5 enemy models (perhaps across different sheets). In this case, you can dynamically load the sprites you need into the lower screen bank using CHRSET and CHRREAD. If you need me to go over how to keep a dynamic set of sprites in the lower screen bank, please let me know.

All of these problems are moot if your sprites are stationary and not animated (which is very unlikely, but I thought I'd point it out anyway). There's a function called GPUTCHR which draws a sprite on the GRP. In this manner, you could draw your sprites on the lower screen on the GRP without worrying about the lower screen sprite bank, because you can tell GPUTCHR to use the upper sprite bank when drawing. However, this is only useful if your sprites are stationary and not animated... so you're stuck with card games and the like.

If you need an example of using GPUTCHR or CHRSET/CHRREAD, please let me know!

Edit: @Maltog I can delete the page for you. However, as a note to the general community, please don't make pages for games unless you're entirely committed to the project. If you're just testing the waters but you're really excited about it, post your ideas here instead of on the wiki (unless the moderators don't want you to do that here either). The wiki is a place for programs, and yet half our pages are just descriptions about games that will never come.

I think a lot of coders (new and old) think of and announce new ideas before even starting them... This causes streets on those waiting for the problem, yet in the end it's all for fun and their not forced to write problems...

Sorry about that and thank you @randomous but please don't as I was at a bit of a low point when I asked that but decided to continue.
Might as well not give up, PWM's nearly done.

SOMEWHAT OFF-TOPIC: Shouldn't you be allowed to delete pages you created?

@IAmAPerson instead of having to download anything why don't you just post the command list here on the forums? I think you should.

I have nothing really to say about myself.

@GraphicGenius you don't get how large it is. If I were to post it, it'd be big enough to take up an entire page, maybe 2. @TheGreatBurrito please do not post stuff like that. It takes up space and is very off topic. @ShadowGame would you be able to access the tutorial if I make some video tutorials and post to my youtube?
