I saw the commercial on TV today. I visited the site. I showed some people in the chat a link to both the commercial and the site (I think Oddy was there....)
Ok, this is probably a commercial which I won't really look back on. At least a harder edge for the holidays? >.<

I don't recall being in there when you were on, Syl. I saw an ad on the Nintendo Channel early in the afternoon yesterday promoting the site, so I checked it out and made a topic about it.
I always hated Nintendo's marketing. But this is really bad. Who is that even aimed at?
Hated Nintendo marketing as a whole or just Nintendo of America?
In my personal opinion... As much as people love Reggie, I think their marketing efforts went completely downhill since he was put in charge of North America. Where as the previous person (Howard Lincoln I believe) he struck a balance between casual gamers and more experienced gamers. When Reggie stepped in, we lost pretty much all serious gaming marketing and it was completely replaced with this family friendly Disney-like stuff. And it's not just what their marketing is like, it's what they market. They don't even bother with their own games that are more geared towards experienced gamers.
The Layton ads myself just pissed me off. Here we have this beautiful looking game with amazing gameplay and really good stories but all we get in the ads are some douchey and milfy women looking like their constipated... I mean COME ON! They completely ignored the unique selling points of the game and what makes it great.... Did Reggie even finish his marketing schooling?
Ugh....This is just dumb... I mean, I understand you need to target younger audiences too, but you don't need to make it look like ass.
Who cares it's all about the games sheesh it's like you want Nintendo Company to be Rockstar or something let them be their own thing as long they produce great games it doesn't matter what there marketing towards.
I actually like this commercial; it might really appeal to kids. And it seems like practically the most important demographic in handheld video games IS kids. But I ABSOLUTELY HATED the Layton ads. They were gay. Not one starred a male person. For that matter, aren't Hershel and Luke both male?
