Topic: DS Lite possible ribbon cable damage

I have myself a DS lite, i had it in a closet for 3+ years, so i recently took it out.

But when I opened it and turned it on, the top screen had vertical lines of very light colors eventually turning white. The top screen is completely useless at this point, I want to know if maybe this is a hardware problem regarding the ribbon cable or maybe some other part. If anyone can help, it would be most appreciated.
