Purely from a standpoint of brightness and picture quality, would I be better off playing GB Advance games on a GB Advance SP or on a DS Lite? I have an old GB Advance SP, but I can purchase a new DS Lite for $60. I already have a DSi XL, so the Lite would just be for GB Advance games. Thoughts?

I have both versions of the SP.
I wouldn't recommend monochrome GB games on the bright one. The GBC's default palette for GB games was pretty bright to increase contrast on the GBC's dark screen. The backlit GBA SP (model number AGS-101, checking that on the label is the only sure way to tell the two) makes it almost blindness-inducing.

I prefer playing GBA games on the SP rather than my DS Lite. Go with the SP!
