Hey guys. As everyone knows, the DS only really supports WEP, which drives me crazy. I've got a laptop picking up a wireless connection. Does anyone out there network-savvy know if I can bridge my connections and plug an ethernet cable from my laptop into the internet port of a router to create a wireless access point? I ask because I found our old router, a Truemobile 2300, sitting around in a cupboard. Can I finally get my weekly puzzles (among other things)?
I have the same issue as you: I've only got a DS Fat and have only been able to connect at once place; a friend's old router.
If that old router is bust or your DS Lite still continues to not work, the only options I can think of are buying a licensed Nintendo Wi-fi USB Connector (which aren't officially produced anymore), or to upgrade to a 3DS.
And upgrading to a 3DS is no good either. The 3DS and 3DS games are WPA. For going online with a DS game like Mario Kart you still need WPE, even on the 3DS.
When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.

Yeah. The reason I'm posting this is because a while ago I stopped having places to connect with my DS to (read: my house) but I decided to wait it out for the 3DS. Well, now I've got a 3DS and, bluh, the online settings apply to DS games not the systems.
Also the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, on top of not being produced anymore, doesn't support Windows 7.
