The lessons are much more difficult than the 1st semester. While there's only 4 classes + 4 bonus...$8 is a little bit expensive They teach you how to mix color, but they don't teach you how to determine what color will you need....

I totally agree. And I said this when First Semester was released and after I beat it in 4 days... NOT worth the money. A GREAT GAME, but NOT worth the money. No replay value beyond the lessons, and certain tools and functions are unlocked in each of the versions. I give this game a 5 out of 10 simply because its SHORT on content. Come on Nintendo! Get it right!! Or at least make this 500 pts or 800 pts for both...

1st lesson yellow lily bonus: red flower (learn how to mix color) 2nd lesson (pencil) puppy bonus: cat 3nd lesson (color) swan - learn about the color wheel and complementary colors as you try out impressionist painting techniques.
I don't see any new tools...identical to "free drawing" from semester 1
"Second Semester provides new and returning students with a larger set of tools and in-depth lessons designed to encourage the creation of more complex artwork."
This is from Nintendo's press release. Unless they are mistaken they should be there somewhere. lol I just find it a little hard to pay another 8 bucks for the same game with 4 new lessons and probably 1 or 2 new tools. Unless those tools are amazing, in which I'll probably wait for the last semester to come out.
LOL well if there isn't really new tools, then I give this version a whopping 2/10. First one still gets a nice 8/10 for me though. Glad I didn't get this. I knew something was up when I saw the 800 point price.

They are indeed mistaken. Or, well, lying.
The lessons use tools that were not used (or explained) in First Semester, but they were still there in the first title, and fully usable. There is nothing unique, in that regard, to Second Semester.
I have an idea, why don't half of us buy only 1st Semester and the other half buy only 2nd Semester from now on, and then we share our lessons here? And as it looks like a number of you already bought 1st but not planning to buy 2nd, I should go ahead and buy 2nd only. (I do want this app a lot -- not that I don't support the Big N -- but not both of them) What do you guys think?
What a waste of money... Nintendo should have released this as a full on DS cart and added more content or both together for 800-1000 pts. Why include the same Free Paint mode with no extra features then lie to us and say there are? THey should give a refund based solely on that discrepancy... Glad I didn't get 2nd sem!

Why include the same Free Paint mode with no extra features << That's what I think!!! I will share the mini lessons soon. I'm totally not good at the 2nd semester. Way too difficult. I had problem with the last mini lesson from 1st semester too!! I have trouble figuring out what kind of color should I use. e.g. for the swan, I have no idea why should I paint the swan blue.... HADAA: thanks for your nice comment. I would love to share my painting here. I think the 1st semester is more friendly to people who's not very use to drawing (like me) compare to the 2nd semester.
