Topic: Remove plastic support

Hi! I'm a bit curious about whether it would be possible to remove the not so pretty transparent supporting pieces of plastic accompanying many of the SSB line amiibos. Most look like they could stand on their own if they are treated carefully and not as toys. Has anyone tried?

Do so at your own risk.

I wouldn't risk it, and plus looking at that image, the plastic mold and space where the support bracket used to be makes it look worse in my opinion…

Thanks for the replies.

I totally agree. I'm sure it would look a lot better with some proper sanding and picking a gold paint which actually matches though. It would probably require some putty too.
Also, the glue pool looks awful as well. If you have enough of an eye for detail to find the support stand to be annoying, you're bound to find these imperfections annoying too.

For now, I don't really know if I will buy theese amiibos in the first place. I might wait for the card versions.

I'd rather have the big plastic supports.

I bet that Captain Falcon will start bending forward with time. Regardless of the glue.

I honestly never saw the support stand as that big of an issue. Especially since most of them are clear, and where I display my amiibos doesn't have very bright lighting anyway so you can't notice them that much.

Incidentally, I've noticed that the Smash series Peach has a support to keep her hair attached to her head. Good luck removing that.

Well, if it's barely noticeable, I don't think they would need to.

It would be kinda like removing the "heels" they added to Samus's feet to simulate how she floats in her art.
