So what do you guys think of them? Will you be getting any? Are you glad Nintendo's trying to increase availability with this or do you just want them to print more figures?
Personally the figures take priority but if I can't find characters I really want in figure form, like my mains in Smash, I'll snag some of these. I may even get the mains I already have in figure form, since I only have Smash 3DS and the portability is a godsend.
This is a stretch but I hope Nintendo will allow us to transfer data between figures and their card counterparts
Speaking of packs, I really hope they don't do the thing where you don't know what characters you're buying. Amiibo is definitely not something I want randomized...
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
And also, with this we don't have to wipe out the write info when switching games. I can have one amiibo for Smash and their card for Mario Party or any other compatible game. Nice stuff. Randomization would be a nightmare here, so I guess they will make packages with both popular and underdog characters.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
I personally find cards easier to collect than figures. I am only getting figures of characters I really like, so I am totally looking forward to these cards
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Nintendo is doomed and they are taking Mother Earth along with them! They are going to produce as much waste as they possibly can to fill all the landfills with their "physical DLC" all the while poisoning the air throughout the manufacturing process.
Ahem, I'm not really interested in cards. If I don't have the amiibo and I like the functionality than I may get some.

I'm sure Nintendo wouldn't randomize amiibo. But I agree. I don't want to buy a whole pack looking for a Marth, only to find a crapton of Marios/Links/Pikachus.
I suspect these cards will come in handy once Animal Crossing Wii U comes out and they can start making Amiibo cards of the various animals. I can see the Amiibo cards being useful for the Pokémon series as well.
I honestly think this solely exists to make sure no one can complain about DLC being limited to Amiibo owners rather than to be a notably successful product. Because this is just dumb, quite frankly. The fact that they are Nintendo toys is why these have been successful. The DLC at best, is really secondary by comparison other than as a "hey look what technology can do!" thing. And maybe for lulz Amiibo tourneys, hopefully.

I buy the amiibo because they look cool. The DLC is just a nice bonus.

1. Yeah, hearing about the cards kind of put me off opening mine.
2. I just hope they are cheap, I can't imagine they'd be half the price to manufacture as the figurines themselves.
