Topic: X/Y vs Alpha/Omega

I cant decide wich to buy. Im trying to save money and can only purchase one.
if it were you would you buy X/Y or Alpha/Omega and why?

Well.. X & Y are new games. So I'd definitely go with any of those before buying a remake of a old title.

I'd go with Alpha Sapphire /Omega Ruby, because X/Y has very little post game content, the dungeons are boringly small and as far as I remember gen 3 didn't disappoint in these parts.

ORAS is ment to be better but you have a long time to wait for that.. plus it may even require X/Y along with it to do some things.

If you can afford X/Y and save up again as we have a long wait (november) for ORAS to come out.. then get x/y.

Y = Yveltal.
'Nuff said.

X/Y had great customization and pacing and really awesome moments but it does not show whats required in a full Pokemon game.

Wait for the remakes where hopefully Gamefreak addresses fans complaints about X/Y.

I would wait for more info about ORAS to make a choice.

Though if you want a new region with more new Pokemon, go with X/Y.

It depends though.

If you've played Ruby/Sapphire before, go with X/Y. You get to see the fairy type Pokemon and Xerneas/Yveltal! And if you could save up after X/Y, then get ORAS. X/Y's worth it.

Do you want a new game or a remake? If the former, X/Y. If the latter, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Well if you find money hard to come by and your only capable of buying 1 out of X, Y/As, Or for a very long time? Probably save up for OR/AS. Everyone is gonna get it basically. It's gonna have Gen 6 code. So you won't miss out on anything like events or battles. You'll be able to talk about it with other people to when it comes out.

X/Y is atrocious compared to pokemon games of old. Watch for the next pair of games. Or wait for Pokemon Delta Emerald.

At least then, you won't experience the following:

-Little to no post-game content (e.g battle frontier, world championship, etc.). Just looker and...not much else, not that look amounts to much to begin with.

• CAN'T REMOVE FRIENDS FROM YOUR LIST OF FRIENDS! Oh, but you can do it to "acquaintances" (albeit, it's a pain to do so, as there is no clear indication of how to). (It still baffles me why such a basic function that exists in the 3DS itself, where it pulls some of your friends from, doesn't exist.)

-Playing the game with the framerate of a slideshow with 3D on (and only slightly less so with it off).

• Being UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE when you are even trying to do something social online (ex: attempting to start a trade with someone takes over the entire touch screen and prevents you from doing anything else while it's in the middle of doing that.
• Being unable to back out of trades (after submitting a pokemon for trade. Even without doing that, you are still stuck in the trade menu until your partner actually does something. Unless you want to disconnect).

Save your money and hope these issues are fix in Ruby and Sapphire.

Haha. Your funny. Their won't be a Delta Emerald. We haven't had a remake of Yellow or Crystal that should have came along with FR/LG and HG/SS so why a fusion remake now.

Overall it's true. There's not alot to do after you beat the game, but the 3D models are spectacular. The meta game is still fun especially with the fairy typing in the play. You can save and replay battles that you have online or with friends. The mega evolutions (Which can be so broken and overpowered) and shiny pokemon are fun to use. Transfering over you favourate pokemon and the legendaries. X/Y is an outstanding game and worth it. And it's out right now. While the wait for the remakes still continues. Just look at all the things to do and have a think about it.

For all we know ORAS could suck as bad as x/y, we didn't even get them yet. To me it looks like just minor differences like Diamond Pearl, and then change in enviroment with different health bars and areas like platinum.. even the megas should be usable in x/y (hopefully) which would make wifi battles in x/y no different than ORAS once they're out and tradable (again hopefully)

If you're also already familiar with the hoenn region it's not going to be some new exciting adventure were you have no idea what to expect (although it looks like they are definitly changing the plot with primal evolutions) incomparison to kalos (which sucked horribly..), an entirely new region might be worth checking out before reliving one you've already been too.

Ok so for awhile ever since this was announced people have been talking about some trumpets or kind of horn what are they and why are they so important?

The main instrument playing in most of the themes in Ruby and Sapphire are trumpets. Like how alot of themes in Diamond and Pearl used alot of Piano and keyboard. It all just a meme of some sort.

Yeah like the OP said, it's basicly the music back then was amazing and everybody wants to hear it again.. and it was the trumpet instruments that made the music that much better.

Oh I've never played a Gen three game so I thought they were like some kind of Key item. Well I'm still interested to play this game I hope there good post game content too.

I have the same problem. I'm planning on just getting both for Christmas.

I just hope it worth the price tag and better than soul silver which is the best remade pokemon game I've played and my personal favorite.

Heart Gold is the best Pokémon game I've ever played.
