I just bought Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright for the 3DS. Should be arriving this weekend. I’ll be playing that quite a bit, I’m sure.

I finally finished TLoZ Ocarina of Time 3D!

What an amazing game! And although I usually don't replay games, this one I would!

Ok. So since I finished OOT on my 2DS, I started up ALBW, and I'm planning to start up MM at some point this weekend. We'll see. LOL.

RE: Shadow Temple — It's taken me so long to finish OOT that I had to look up where the Shadow Temple happens. And . . . you're so close to being done! Do it! Get it done! LOL. Hey . . . is this your 1st run through, or is it a re-run-through?

@Kraven
RE: Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright — Are you up and running? Also . . . I saw someone mention FEFBirthright in the WAYPTW and then realized it was you. You've got a bunch of games on your docket this weekend! Which game is taking most of your time?

Happy Gaming Everyone!

@NintendoDad Oh goody, I'm almost done! Yeah, as a Nintendo fan myself I should definitely finish it sometime. It's basically the latter.

RE: OOT . . . This game came out so long ago, but IMHO holds up so well. IMHO definitely still worth a playthrough.

I actually started up both MM and ALBW this weekend. I'm thinking I might actually be more in the mood to continue with MM. Probably because I just finished OOT.

I actually also started up Twilight Princess on my Wii (which I got way-back-when just to see if my kids would get into it, but neither did.) and . . . I'd probably be game to play through that as well. But I'm thinking after MM.

NintendoDad

Ok. My next 3DS game I'm going to focus on is MM.

As I said last week, I started up both MM and ALBW to see what I was in the mood for, with a suspicion that I'd probably decide for MM. And that's what happened. I guess I'm thinking that MM is the sequel to OOT, which I really enjoyed, so why not try to play through it.

What is everyone up to on their 3DS/2DS?

Or is everyone focusing on dusting / finishing off some of their Switch games before the Switch 2 arrives? LOL.

Happy gaming!

After the announcement of new Tomodachi Life for Switch (or Switch 2), I checked again my progress of Tomodachi Life 3DS after I got hiatus for very long time.
I prepared myself before experiencing with new Tomodachi Life game.

@NintendoDad That's cool, great job on finishing Ocarina of Time. I haven't played too much of Twilight Princess, just didn't really get into it for some reason. Right now, I've been focusing on my Switch.

Yes. I noticed the announcement for the new Tomodachi Life game.

Did you finish Tomodachi Life 3DS? If not, are you planning to? Or are you just happy that Tomodachi Life is headed for the Switch/2? LOL.

Take care,

+1. Thanks. Playing OOT really opened my eyes on how good a game can be.

What are you playing Twilight Princess on? I've got it for Wii and was planning on giving it a go after MM.

So I've got . . . OOT 3D, MM 3D, TP for Wii, and SS for Wii. I wanted a chance to play / experience these games. Of course . . . if I stick to playing these old games, I'm not going to be getting around to Breath of the Wild anytime soon. LOL. I'm trying to decide when to put these games on the backburner to at least start BotW. LOL.

Take care,

I think I have finished Tomodachi Life 3DS as all the building facilities have been unlocked including the houses for the married couples.
Btw, some random activity I did when the tower is empty, I will ask polling for random question with blank thing to be asked.
My mischief ideas made me typing something funny yet a little bit naughty, for example there was a question "Who likes _____ ?"
I oftenly filled with "Who likes wearing bra?", then waiting for the reaction from the six random Mii. Some funny reaction I got were either the male Mii excitingly raised their hand or one of Mii raised their hand and the other Mii beside them looked at them with surprised expression. Well, male is not supposed to wear bra, right? 🤣
It just random question anyway and they might give random reaction for completely off topic question. 🤭

Well, it sounds like you are ready for Tomodachi Life Switch!

Hey, as for guys wearing bras, that happens. But also, that's a Seinfeld episode.

It's where Kramer and George's dad invent "The Bro", or "Manssiere".

Mario Golf: World Tour had completely escaped my attention. I honestly didn't know it existed until this month. It's such a blast. I think it's my favorite Mario Golf game ever, possibly my favorite Mario Sports title in general.

There's a detailed hub world/castle you can explore between rounds with a cafe and lots of cute Nintendo characters going about their day with fun dialog. Plenty of clothing items to customize your Mii.

And the actual gameplay itself is perfection. I don't think there's much that could be improved over this. Controls amazing, feels good to swing, beautiful presentation and camera angles. Lots of fun variety in the courses available too.

I think a lot of people may have slept on this one but it's so worth checking out. I pick it up for a round almost every day now.

I have Mario Golf 3DS but I neglected the game as i'm suck at playing any golf games, didn't know how to give the right amount of the power needed and the right direction based on wind factor.
I mostly ended with Boogie Wonderland (Bogey), positive number scores as I hit the ball too much. 😩

@Anti-Matter it's definitely not for everyone! When I used to play Wii Sports golf with others, I tended to get completely derailed if I messed up a single shot because I felt like I couldn't recover from it. I'd give up pretty fast.

With Mario Golf on 3DS, I find it's pretty easy to consistently get the shots right (even on manual mode, but you can use auto mode and it's even easier). It's definitely less finicky than motion controls.

Putting is where I had trouble, but someone on reddit gave the following strategy:

Add 5ft to the putt distance for every 1ft of elevation rise when putting, and add an additional 50% to the distance if it's raining. (So if you're putting and the hole is 18ft away with a rise of +0.5ft, shoot for 20-21ft. If it's also raining, shoot for about 32ft instead)

Once I started following that, even my putts are consistent now and I've been getting birdies left and right!

Of course, when it's sloping perpendicular to where you're aiming, there's no hard and fast rule I have for how much to adjust the shot left or right... I kinda just feel it out.

Good pointers.

And the nice thing about sports games is that they can be evergreen. Everytime you start, its a new game. 'like Mario Kart.

I don't think "Moco Moco Friends" rings any bells?

Do you guys frequently use the 3D function? For most of my 3DS' life, I just turned on the 3D when I was curious, and it just felt mostly like a gimmick. Only when I played Monster Hunter 4 in recent years did the 3D really show its potential. Being a more realistic art style on a low res screen, I found the edges of objects would kinda blend together. It didn't look bad, but it wasn't super crisp. But when 3D was enabled, it gave the visuals that depth that let you easily discern the edges of different things. Now I almost always play with 3D on if I can!

Has anybody else had found that a game has looked particularly good with 3D enabled?

RE: Moco Moco Friends . . . I had to look that one up. Is that what you're playing right now!

RE: 3D function

I only have the 2DS, so no 3D screen. I was wondering if the 3D made playing Super Mario 3D Land any easier. And I would have liked to have seen Metroid: Samus Returns with 3D. I thought that would be cool. But . . . I never got around to getting a 3DS.

I played most of 3D land without 3D, but the 3D definitely gives you a sense of depth that you simply don’t get playing in 2D. For instance, I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of the gimmick rooms where it looks like you should be able to navigate a certain way, but you have to stand on a button to change the perspective so you can see how the room is actually laid out. In 3D, you can just tell that a platform is actually in the foreground/background without the perspective change.

Metroid: Samus Returns is a visual treat, I don’t remember a whole lot of the 3D aspects in detail, but the backgrounds were unlike any side scrolling Metroid prior. I need to replay that game. It’s actually the game that caused my original old 3DS’ circle pad to drift, from what I can only assume was the abuse it went through in the intense end game fights.

I also recall Majoras Mask 3D being a particularly good looking game with the 3D enabled. Federation Force is also up there for me, given that you have the helmet overlay. I love any game that gives you a cockpit or helmet overlay, it’s just soooo immersive, especially with the 3D!
