The real question is, do you want it to work? Owning one, I can say there's just about nothing worth getting on it. Plus the games would still be (literal) eyesores.
@nf_2: Come on, I'm sure your imagination isn't that limited. Game Boy games on 3DS aren't blurry green and hard to see like they were on the original handheld. So Virtual Boy games shouldn't be headache inducing red and black. Nintendo would change the color palette to something more appropriate. And a VB game appearing on the eshop along with everything else is not the same as buying a VB just to play VB games.
I highly doubt it's ever gonna happen, but if Nintendo had any interest in releasing VB games on their current or future systems, I see it as more likely that they'd redo most sprites in proper colors to reduce eye strain.
@Bass_X0: I don't see what my imagination has to do with any of this.
If they did 3D Classics of the VB games to fix the color palette then that'd be fine, but that doesn't fix the fact that there's only one game worth a download. Also, this assumes that Nintendo is willing to put in the work for games on a console that is a historic failure. Not good odds there.
Would I want it? Yes. Do I think it would happen? No.
The library on the system is severely limited. I don't think it's even worth building the emulator for the few games they have. Some of them are 3rd party as well, which probably won't be re-released by their owners. Virtual Boy is something Nintendo likes to makes references to, but apart from that I don't think they'll get their money back if they re-release the games.
Since we're talking about Virtual Boy games on Virtual Console, why not add them to Nintendo Switch's virtual console? Think about it: Nintendo's tinkering with the idea of adding virtual reality into the Nintendo Switch anyway so, if they do decide to bring VR to the system, it will be the perfect opportunity to add Virtual Boy Games do virtual console on Nintendo switch.
Virtual BOY? Virtual CONSOLE? Virtual REALITY? It's pretty much a no-brainer, right?
