I played through again, but this time it was less fun. I think the majority of the fun comes from having 3 people who haven't done the puzzles again. Otherwise you have the people who have, speeding through everything while ordering everyone else around. Still, fun, but it didn't match the feeling of accomplishment when we all figured out we had to move the block, for example.
I'm wondering if I should play through the campaign solo first or if I should try doing it with the randoms online

Agreed, I enjoyed the demo, but a lot of the enjoyment came from figuring out the puzzles. Thankfully when I was doing the levels for the first time, the other players were either also new or were being kind enough not to instantly give the solution.
My main complaint of the demo was that there seemed to be quite a lot of disconnects. Some players seemed to be disconnecting as soon as they got stuck in a puzzle and didn't know what to do. Thankfully the other players were very patient with me. On the puzzle where I had to chuck a bomb on the the ground and then they blow it away, I spent several minutes stuck there. We even tried a totem for that bit, but the bomb didn't quite go far enough. Eventually, one of the others occasionally started doing the 'over here' prompts which helped us solve that puzzle. I seemed to be the only one that wanted bombs in level 2. Everyone else I played with went straight for the blowing thing.
The communication icons were charming and generally get the job done but a couple of extra icons would be nice. A "Sorry" needs to be added for my sake... ^^"
I believe that the one to the left of the "Nooo!" Icon means sorry since the image in the Japanese version is a gesture used when apologizing.
@Operative I'll probably just try to stick with 2 friends throughout most of the adventure so we can try to figure out all the puzzles together and for the first time.
@yokokazuo: Oh OK, didn't know about that change. Kinda took it as a "...Whoops." icon but it's close enough.
@Operative: I know what you mean. I have that same problem with Zelda games in general. I'll have a fantastic time on the first playthrough solving the puzzles, but then I can't put myself in the mood to replay the game because I know the solutions. I still enjoy replaying the demo for a bit but my first time with the dungeons was the best time.

@DreamyViridi: I take the icon as many things dependinon the current context. I can take it as "I can't move any further..." or "I'm kinda stumped on this puzzle..." or, of course, "Whoops." XD
I need a way to tell my teammates to get out of my Gust Jar's way... 😇
I played all three of the demo dungeons with one group and had a really fun time. Me and the other Links were having a rough time with Bomb Storage and the block puzzle; we knew what had to be done but sometimes, one of us would end up accidentally "totem" a Link.
This happened to me as well. The trick is waiting for the block to stop rumbling, but my other team members didn't know that, and as a result, kept doing "totem time" like your team did. I wish there was a "Wait!" command, I feel like that would come in handy for puzzles like that.
I found the Bomb Storage the hardest. My group had no trouble with the other dungeons, or most of Bomb Storage. It was the boss that we couldn't figure out.
I use the shrug emotion whenever I make a mistake or honestly have no idea what to do. If I use it for "sorry", usually the person I affected will do the thumbs up, I'm guessing as a "it's okay!" reply.
@Operative: Yeah, I definitely see the thumbs up icon as "It's OK." Whenever I made a mistake, I always used the shrug icon, and my teammates would almost always respond with the thumbs up. Logically, that should mean "It's OK."
Wow. It's just the demo, but I'm glad the players are already developing a new system of using the picture chat. I can see it now: threads and articles popping up all over the internet to explain to the players how to use the chat icons effectively, as well as the patterns the experienced players will develop as they play the game. Think of it as some sort of Morse Code.
@Eat_Pie I think it was the same for me or we at least got pretty close to running out of hearts.
Overall things went well for my team, we also went through the third dungeon together and aside from the block puzzle, we had few problems. We figured out what to do against the final boss almost right away, I wish I could've added them as friends...
This may come off as an odd thing to say but seeing most everyone here share their fun times with the demo just makes me smile. Idk why, maybe it's because I previously felt that I would be the only one looking forward to the game and now I imagine you would all make great partners.
Although, speaking of, my one real gripe with the game (so far) is the region-locked online servers. I thought the small messages (Green got a Heart, etc.) would also bug me but it turns out that they didn't bother me that much.

@ravens326: Yeah, that shouldn't happen. The blacklist should be for people whose only purpose is to mess with your game, like throwing you into fire on purpose or the like. Had one guy in the Fire Temple who didn't even try to make it past the first jump, instead throwing me and the other guy around.
Being slow shouldn't lead to blacklisting, on the contrary. I enjoyed it more when I had the time to discover instead of rushing through.

Fire Temple is still insane on newbies. It took me a while figure out you can boomerang others to your position and use that blasty (lol) item to push people across areas. But that block puzzle is still the worst. No push icon is criminal. I had a guy kept saying sorry because he didn't know what to do. I was like, "NINTENDO!!!!!" Lol.
I didn't find the block puzzle to be that bad. My team and I did spend a few minutes chucking each other around and becoming totems, but we had no trouble figuring out how to solve it. If you stand next to the block, it says "Grab". It's also kind of obvious after standing on the block and using an item. You'll realize that you can't reach the crystal, so you need to move the block.
I STILL haven't used my demo codes for this game. Not sure if i want to either. I don't feel compelled to try this game. Nor do i have friends who have 3DSs.

Try telling that to a random young kid while playing online. I can't blame a young kid on getting confused at the block puzzle.

I don't either. It was confusing at first for me too, especially if you never stand near the block. Hopefully their team members can help them figure it out.
