Topic: The best solitaire game on the 3DS eShop?

I've been thinking about gettting myself a little solitaire game on the 3DS eShop. My main problem with doing this is that there are way to many versions to choose from! I counted them, there's 8 different games I can pick! On DSiWare there's 24/7 Solitaire, 5 in 1 Solitaire, 2-in-1 Solitaire and Simply Solitaire, and as for 3DS eShop versions there's Best of Solitaire, 3D Solitaire, Best of Board Games - Solitaire and ARC STYLE: Solitaire. And no, Peg Solitaire doesn't count, I'm mainly looking for the card game. My only actual requirement for the game is that Klondike Solitaire is one of the options, since that's my favourite version. A save feature so that I can continue later on would also be nice, and a hint functionality wouldn't be too bad either. Any game mode other than Klondike is a bonus. It's not meant as a game I'll play a ton, just as a little timewaster when I've got nothing better to do and I'm not in the mood for anything.
I'll check the descriptions and reviews out myself too, but in the meantime, which version do you guys prefer?

I enjoy Arc Style: Solitaire myself.

  • It has two different game types, one of which is Klondike (you have a few options to tweak the rules as well).
  • You can save your progress, to pick up your game later (also, as long as you win, your score carries over to the next round, so you can keep building it up).
  • I can't remeber if it has a hint system, but it does have an "S.O.S." option you can use once per game, which will make a move for you. (Unfortunately, I don't think it tells you if you don't have any moves left, though).
  • It has a small variety of different deck & background types to unlock. They range from simple stuff like different colors, to decks based off of their other games (there's a BlazBlue, Battle Fantasia, & Family series deck). Some of these are unlocked for completing a certain number of games, others you can buy with play coins.
  • You can use button or stylus control.
  • Graphics are nothing special, but they get the job done.
  • It's only $1.99

Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Best of Solitaire comes with more solitaire than anyone will ever need. Like, 101 variations I think.

It's also sold as part of a retail download along with tangram, mahjong, other card games and etc in that game that's constantly in the discounted section of the eShop.

Edit: this one. According to the description, the full game comes with double the amount of solitaire.

Best of Solitaire is the BEST Solitaire game on the 3DS. It has the most variations and looks nice and plays nice. You don't need any other Solitaire game besides that one because it's that good. Also, the same company made Best of Mahjong, which, again, is the best Solitaire Mahjong game on the 3DS.

Since Klondike is the most popular and well known variation, I'd be very surprised if a Solitaire game DIDN'T come with Klondike. Then again. Turtle is the most well known Mahjong layout, and for some reason lots of newer games don't include it. It's really annoying since that's the layout I play 99% on. Luckily Best of Mahjong does have it.

I finally decided to buy the full version of classic games overload yesterday (which comes with Best of Solitaire included)... Mostly because I always wanted it, but I was waiting for it to go down in price a bit more... It's been four years and it never happened. So whatever, 50% off is the lowest it has ever been (watch it drop lower next week).

I can confirm that it (and by extension, Best of Solitaire) comes with klondlike (it's actually the first result if you sort them by popularity) and is very customizable. You can choose from many options like number of cards drawn, types of stacks you can make, what kinds of cards can start a new stack, etc.

You can make it go from hard to easy and everything in between.

If you wonder how true it is that Best of Solitaire and Classic Games Overload are the same thing, I bought Best of Mahjong a long time ago, and it is indeed identical in presentation and content to the Mahjong section of the full game. I think it even has the exact same music tracks.

The one difference is that Best of Mahjong lacks the different designs for the 3D room on the top screen, you can only change the background of the touchscreen (since in Mahjong and Solitaire the camera is zoomed in on the table you can't really appreciate those anyway, so I guess the change makes sense).

Thanks for the suggesions guys! Best of Solitaire does sound good. Arc Stye Solitaire doesn't sound bad either. I'll look into them. If anyone else has a suggestion do please tell me!
