several new submarines added. most of them 99cent on the eshop. one is a submarine from a famous nintendo franchise. besides that there is one new map for multiplayer (arctic). you can either enter random matches (you dont see the lvl of other players in the lobby anmore) or matches with players around the same lvl as yours (the lvls still appear in this lobby).
oh and you have to pay playcoins to play online now if you didn't purchase the premium version. kinda weird but i dont really care cause i got the premium version pretty early
that's all i know for now after playing 30minutes and loking up miiverse.
what do you think of the update?
They nerfed the torpedoes on the Walrus, so I'm a little sad about that, but most of the changes are for the better.
I hope the online doesn't die off because of the play coin requirement. We have to use playcoins to play the streetpass plaza games at will, even the ones we paid for, so I don't really think the free users should be dissuaded that they have to use coins for this though.
I think the play coins is an excellent idea. After all you should only be getting a taste if online and Nintendo has been offering full course meal without the appetizer or dessert.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I think the play coin change is great. It has instantly stemmed the team killing problem. So many kids who invested nothing in the game would go on simply to troll the game. Now the trolling isn't going to be worth it.
It will definitely lessen the amount of players, but one thing I've noticed is that there is no such thing as a gimme anymore. Every battle is tough. I'm glad I maxed out at level 99 before this update. Stringing together a long win streak (and gaining a lot of points) won't be nearly as easy now.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.
I think I got there around there 150-160 hour mark. But getting 25+ win streaks early on weren't super rare for me so I racked up points quickly. You need just under 1,600,000 points to max out.
