@Traxx: You know, just because someone hasn't beaten StarFox 64, that doesn't mean they suck at games. The only reason I've never finished it is because I found it to be incredibly boring.

Why are people bashing on each-other over the fact that they don't have the time to beat a game in one sitting? Anyway, the remake should definitely have a save system (and possibly axe the lives system because it has become a completely unnecessary mechanic to most games), add some online component to the multiplayer, and maybe add some more levels (although that would be a bit tough because you'd have to record new audio, which wouldn't match very well with the other audio that's taken from the original N64 game and you get the idea).

Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar.

No offense, but what games do you like playing if you cant afford a time frame above 20 minutes?! You really think videogaming is the right hobby for you?

Like playing a lot of games, that's the problem.

When you own over a hundred titles, it's hard to just sit down and play one forever.

So I rarely play any one game for an hour, I play one for 30- maybe 40 minutes, and then move on to the next.

You cant beat SF64 less than an hour?

I can't beat SF64 at all. Feel free to point out my inferiority as a gamer too.

Well, if you cant beat SF64 I recommend you to buy more than 100 games so you can play another game every 20 minutes and thus the epic fails wont hurt that much.

Hahaha I like you.

I haven't tried

Apparently it's your holy grail of video games, and the benchmark as to what you measure gamers, but I've been fortunate enough to afford to play many games in my day, so I'm not nearly as limited.

I've completed most of my games, many of which requiring a lot more time and patience than Star Fox 64. Fortunately these games had save systems, so I didn't have to prove my gamerhood by playing nonstop till I beat it.

It's a shame though because I would love to go on forums and say 'Hai guyz, I can beat Star Fox 64 in under an hour!!11 lolol'

One day, we shall reach the pinnacle of that mountain, plant the flag in the rich soil, and declare that,
Once and for all,
That greatest of beasts,
Star Fox 64
Lies before us defeated and tamed.

I live now only for that day.

Just add a saving feature. That was the worst thing about SF64.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Chrono_Cross

What was wrong with the original? I find it to be a masterpiece. But I will admit a save feature would be nice.

I'll tell you want I don't want:
-More levels
-being able to play as Falco/Peppy/Slippy
-customize your ship
-motion controls
-updated voice acting

Just for you.

What could you have against more levels? I mean, if they replaced the originals, understandable, but if there is a save system in place, there's no reason to complain about extra levels.

@WeirdYoshiSage
Multi-player. Though I could do without all-range mode in single-player, actually. The on-rails, flying levels are what make Star Fox, Star Fox. Every game play element they've tried to add to the series since the original has only been for the worse, I find.

Just to make it a little Fresh, and New.

Just to add, I'll like to see a Co-Op mode.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

I can't beleive all you people think about is a saving system... if you buy it to finish it once then thats kinda stupid.. besides.. you can simply close your 3ds so it goes into sleepmode.. saving your progress without the need to save..
Personally i'd love to see somo online stuff.. new levels, new upgrades. more branching paths.. Something new that really makes me want to buy it.. otherwise, im only getting games that are not remakes

I would also like to see a warhawk style multiplayer mode.. starfox has done everything.. form tanks, to subs.. to arwings and regular on-foot levels.. i think it would work

Forum Tip: Use the edit button instead of double posting.

The save feature is not simply for finishing it once. I've played through the game a few times, but only as a kid. I don't have the time and patience to play through it again anymore, which prevents me from enjoying it. Even the VC version regrettably does not have suspend play since it's N64. I tried a few times on VC, playing maybe halfway through any one path, but because I can't save my progress, I've gotten tired of playing the first few levels of the game over and over, and now I simply don't play it.

And Sleep Mode is not saving. It's sleeping. I'm not going to leave my console on 24/7 and never play any other games just to effect a basic feature that should already be there in the first place. There's nothing "kinda stupid" about wanting a save feature. In fact, it'd very much be a common sense addition.

I do agree that Star Fox meets Warhawk would be awesome though -- except that Star Fox and multi-player do not have a great history, so I wonder if Nintendo could find the right team to do it.

Im not saying it shouldn'd include a save feature.. Im just saying that people should be a little bit more creative.. what's the point of repeating the same idea over and over again?

Well, it demonstrates consensus, TLOZ. It's like if someone put up a poll of new ideas, we wouldn't stop voting for "Save system" just because someone else already did. It's nice to know when your opinion is or isn't shared by others.

This forum is right.. a save system would revolutionize the industry and make this game sell more than Call of Duty

I don't know why anyone would be against a save feature. Sure, the game can be completed in about 30 minutes, but a save feature would still be nice. Other than that, I don't really have any complaints, but it would be cool to see them flesh out the multiplayer mode. I liked playing that with my cousin back when it first came out. I've always loved the voices, and I thought they gave the game personality. I hated that they tried to change the voices to seem more "normal" in Assault; it lost its charm.

No, it would show that Nintendo is utilizing common sense.
